The shaman uses ceremonies to transform fear and guide others through their own transitions. In ceremonies we learn to be present with the direct experience of fear, even when we want to avoid it.

Sound has long been known to have deep therapeutic qualities. The main element of healing music is the root sound. The focus on one note brings the listener to the present. It is grounding and can induce a higher state of consciousness. Combine that with dancing and you are now moving the energy, freeing your body from stuck emotions.

This is the purpose of this album. These are the tools for the modern shaman.

Anjunadeep presents the third instalment of the ‘Reflections’ compilation series. Following the success of the first two volumes, which have won high praise from the likes of SiriusXM, BBC Radio 1 and Mixmag, ‘Reflections Vol. 3’  is a collection of ambient and downtempo electronica from label favourites Jody Wisternoff, Martin Roth and CRi alongside contributions from Öona Dahl, PBSR, Stillhead and rising stars Olan, Nourey, Nikola Melnikov and Vár Sofandi. 

Featuring familiar catalogue moments from Jody Wisternoff and label boss James Grant, with an exclusive chill mix of 2020 favourite ‘Nightwhisper’, and Öona Dahl and Giddyhead on 2017’s ‘Astral Realm’, the compilation also brings exclusive contributions from Canada’s CRi, singer songwriter and producer Olan and Russia’s Nikola Melnikov alongside label debuts for Scotland’s Stillhead and US producer Nourey while welcoming back Martin Roth, PBSR and Vár Sofandi to the series.

Only a short time ago Memorex debuted on the first Dream Chimney release “Demo Tracks Vol. 1” with the stunning and instant classic track “Atlas”. We are now very happy to present the follow up album here as Dream Chimney’s fifth official release “Hyper France”.

I wanted to make music to get back to the feelings I had during my summer vacations as a child. Like many other kids in France in the nineties', it was made of endless highway rides, listening to the same pop songs on the radio over and over again, often interrupted by traffic announcements and commercials. Bring together these influences, write dumb lyrics with cheesy melodies over it, just to relive those weird moments that you became nostalgic of, to the point where it confuses your memory and you wonder if they ever happened.

Dutch Producer @Retromigration has been creating something of a stir over the last 12 months with some pretty incredible releases via Ravanelli Disco Club, Healthy Scratch US, Ltd w/lbl and Aper'House Switzerland. His sound is a hazy summer concoction of laidback Jazz, broken beat and sizzling deep house all imbued with a wonderful warmth and a decided touch of class.

His latest release see's him land on Wolf Music (@nysoul) for a pretty spectacular release Bloom Street. With an illustrious past in music, Nøkken is a fresh start for the elusive musician. The album opens with a Vangelis-like chord, setting the tone for the rest of the play. 808 drums and 303 bass-lines traverse Electro, Garage, Trip-hip, after-hours Techno Electronica, Ambient and...the list goes on. Nøkken closes the LP with a gorgeous Eno- inspired track, featuring field-recordings from the Nøkken itself.

Barcelona-based label Balearic Ensemble lands for the first time on our platform featuring the remixed versions of Residentes Balearicos' "Simplemente Cachonda", EP previously released in July. Gallo, LuVa (Lukkas + Da Silva, label owner), and Residentes themselves let the creativity juice flow wildly and freely to provide interesting (re)interpretations of the beautiful originals.

We were solicited to premiere Gallo’s remix, the man behind Berlin’s long-running Balearic club night Buena Onda. "His rework of 'Cachonda'", wrote Mikey Sibson on the PR text, "shuffles along a half-lit beachfront on the precipice between night and day, a low-slung beat carried through by an orchestra of warblers and songbirds soaking up the last rays of sunlight. A breezy, piano-led ode to life in the slow lane".

And we agree with Mikey: Gallo’s version does take you to places! While you listen to it, don’t forget to have in hand a cold beverage, preferably a gin tonic with a small slice of orange peel inside.

Lebanese imprint Feedasoul Records returns this August with ‘Moody Type Love Pt.II’ by Papa Soul, accompanied by remixes from Soul Groove (UK) and DJ Merci.
Byblos, Lebanon’s Papa Soul is co-founder of the Feedasoul Records label and over the past few years has unveiled a series of material showcasing his twist on contemporary house sounds. Here he returns to the label for the second instalment of his ‘Moody Type Love’ EP.
The original mix of ‘Moody Type Love Pt. II’ leads the release and showcases Papa Soul’s signature style via groove-laden, sample heavy drums, soul-infused vocals and warm, hypnotic keys.
DJ Merci’s take on ‘Moody Type Love Pt. II’ follows next, embracing a garage swing rhythmically while stirring in bright electric piano keys and snaking bass grooves. Soul Groove (UK) then rounds thing out with his interpretation, embracing a more jazztinged, soulful aesthetic via organic percussion and intricate brass lines atop elements of the original’s hazy soulful vibe.

DJ, producer and record collector Trujillo’s trajectory from Venezuela to Berlin is as colourful as his music. His well-honed sense of soul, disco and tropical 80s house rhythms comes paired with an unparalleled devotion to digging up dusty dance floor heat. 

Trujillo grew up in Merida, Venezuela, where records were a part of daily family life. His grandfather opened the city's first modern art museum and had a longstanding tradition of playing classical music everyday at lunchtime. His father had a vast collection of 60s and 70s rock and gifted Trujillo his first record when he was five years old and he’s never looked back. 

He wrote some words about his mix:

“During the last few months, I’ve been touring paradise islands in the Caribbean. Every day, I used to go to shell beach, a place with a magic view, just the perfect spot for watching the sunset and the waves dancing to the rhythm of my playlists, while dreaming to come back playing for crowds. On my return to Berlin, I decided to put together all these musical memories in a mix which I called Dreamwaves. When my good friend and fellow digger Danny asked me to join the exquisite Idle Cellar’s podcast series, I thought this would be the perfect summer soundtrack for enjoy a good glass of wine whilst watching the sunset.”
