When @evboogie from @upnorthtrips proposed the idea for a mix celebrating the 20th anniversary of Ironman, we couldn't resist, considering that Ghostface might be our favorite rapper ever. 

Since Ironman was the last of six Wu-Tang albums produced entirely by Rza, we widened the scope of the mix in order to pay homage to his legendary run in that classic Wu-Tang era.

MOBSKI took a shot and went another direction with their rap style. MOBSKI's precision on Get It It was on the snare. The Competition in NYC was fierce with many tons of crews fighting to rep their borough. MOBSKI caught the attention of ZAKIA RECORDS and made that deal happen. 1st released single and 12 inch was "Get Wit IT" (Produced with D'MOET") and "Description" Produced with Cut Master DC of (Brooklyn's In The House)while getting radio play MOBSKI was not able to push through the politics of Zakia and MCA Records, which in many cases slowly ended zakia's independent rain!! MOBSKI continued to record songs produced by D'Moet and Ronnie MOB/ Biasheem which was never released. Today... MOBSKI has reorganized those un-released songs and now performing old school hip hop funk!!!

Then on the flip side, BC-based newcomer Kotek absolutely smashes a heavy bass remix with incredible synth design and whats sure to be one of the sickest remix drops of the year. With only 2-tracks on this EP, they both somehow really do manage to offer something for everyone!

The inspiration for this project might have been best summed up by Nas himself:

"Large Professor was the one that really started working with me first…so we were on to a lot of crazy ideas…he really could have done the entire [Illmatic] record and in the beginning, I wanted him to. Once I was working with him, why would you need to go anywhere else? You got HIM…so my thought was that one day it would happen and he would do the whole thing" - Nas

Since that day has yet to come, we put together our own version of this elusive "lost album".

Drawing from the wealth of post-Illmatic Large Pro instrumentals and Nas acapellas, we carefully paired some of the best examples of two artists at the top of their game, highlighting some underrated works while reimagining hooks and adlibs to help fuel the illusion of an authentic collaboration.
