Larose is a Montreal-based electronic music artist whose career took off during his three-year stay in London, UK, where he was a resident DJ and a member of the Motek Music label. In addition to having played big crowds in renowned London venues, Larose has played alongside well established artists in the electronic music scene such as Slam, Simon Baker, My Favorite Robot, just to name a few. His quick ascent led him to perform guest mixes for DJ Mag HQ Sessions and State London Radio Show as well as being invited to play at Gottwood Festival in Wales. Always challenging himself, Larose quickly learned how to produce electronic music and perfected his technique at Point Blank Music School in London. His skills led him to quickly release his first remix on Unrivaled Music in 2012, followed by a remix of Max Belobrov’s song Wanna Dance on Motek Music in 2014, and the song Toxique by Charlene Blanchette in 2015. Larose has also been asked to create musical arrangements for Nelski and the Hornman band with whom he has performed at the Buddhafield Festival in Somerset.

Now that he moved back to Montreal, Larose aspires to revolutionize what it means to do a live performance in today’s electronic music industry. Throughout his early career in London, he realised that technology, allowing for the creation of complex electronic compositions, usually prevents artists to play their music live. Formed by a great number of elements, these musical arrangements cannot be reproduced on stage. The audience in turn does not experience live music anymore, but rather pre-made music. Through his art, Larose wants to overcome those barriers and offer a real live performance to his fans.

Rafa Pineda steady presence in techno's Montreal scene over last years has helped establish him as a remarkable Dj and producer on underground dance floors between Mexico and Canada.

Cofounder of 8day collective and working on Grrreat Recordings, Rafa has been playing alongside numerous international artists in the past years. Very engaged in the local scene, playing frequently in venues as Le Salon Daome, Newspeak, La SAT, Stereo Night Club, and festivals such as Eclipse Canada, Piknic Électronik, Radiance Mexico, Illusion, Totem, La Tierra Prometida Mexico, Timeless & Earthdance to name a few.

Born in Mexico and now established in Montreal, Rafa is expanding his profile with his new live project, Paradigme, a project in collaboration with his good friend Maudite Machine.

2018 is definitely a year when Rafa Pineda's projects, gigs and releases will grow. Always trying to respect and follow his own style, he is definitely an artist to follow closely.

PARADIGME

Paradigme is a duo project formed by Rafa Pineda and Michael Sanchez, also known as Maudite Machine. They are co-founders of 8day Montreal. A collective that specializes in transmitting, promoting and organizing avant-garde electronic music events, selected by passionate artists and creative minds.

At the end of 2017, after sharing ideas and working together in 8 days, Rafa Pineda and Maudite Machine decided to create a new musical project using analog and digital tools such as Analog, Analog Rhythm, Octatrack and semi-modular like 0-Cast, In this way, they create paradigms.

Its 100% original and organic sounds offer a hypnotic, powerful and avant-garde experience, envelops the audience from beginning to end. His musical style focuses on industrial technology with experimental touches. The new project was quickly installed in the Montreal underground scene and in just one year they have already made appearances in 3 festivals and numerous events. Paradigme aims to present sounds outside of Canada, interact with new artists, share ideas, innovate and expand their musical horizons.

Rafa Pineda (Mexico) is currently one dj of Montreal's underground techno scene. In recent years it has been published several times in places such as The Society of Technical Arts, Stereo, News, Le Salon Daomé, Entrepôts Dominion, Bloc 66 and national and international festivals such as Piknic Électronik, Eclipse Festival, Totem Festival, Radiance Festival, and timeless. He has shared the stage with artists like Stephan Bodzin, ANNA, Oliver Huntemann, Max Cooper, D-Nox, Reinier Zonneveld to name a few.

On the other hand Maudite Machine (France) is a dj / producer already recognized in his country, thanks to his presentations at the Techno Parade in Paris and Piknic Électronik Nantes where we shared the stage with Carl Craig, Van Did and Arno Gonzalez, doing the win Great notoriety with his alias Locomote. Now Installed in Montreal for 9 years Maudite Machine is a versatile artist with a lot of influence and excellent reputation in the electronic scene of the city.

Both create an explosive combination.

Flair and feeling are at the forefront of Barber’s musical armoury, be it DJing or producing. His expertise in the latter is testament to why his diary is full of studio clientele looking for something a little more… “Mmmm, Yes Bruv!”, and why key industry taste makers are sitting up, taking note, signing and playing his tracks.


His vigorous and entertaining DJ sets are an extension of his impulsive and fun personality, which has enabled him to play in both Berlin and London regularly, including Sisyphos, IPSE, Golden Gate and Egg Club, Fabric, Basing House, Studio 338.


So, other than featuring on ViVA Music: Club Cuts Volume 1, having Darius Syrossian champion his remix of the classic 808 State track, 'Pacific State’, then featured on the coveted 'Balance Series' compilation. Or his Fabric  London Room 1 performance for 'WetYourSelf'… oh, and spearheading the Faceless Recordings label takeover at IPSE, Berlin, and Sisyphos, Berlin. More recently Barber was chosen by the legendary Marshall Jefferson to launch his new label Imprint Frekin'303 with a five track EP called 'Barber and Friends'

All the while he’s working tirelessly on the label he co-founded with long time friend — respected DJ/producer, Silky — Faceless Recordings. Together they are the driving force behind this quality-not-quantity driven underground house and techno label and are preparing for an even bigger 2017.


With a growing array of original and remix works that impressively count ViVA Music, Suara, Elrow, Columbia, Flashmob, Freakin 303, Slave, Cubism, Fetch, Onit, Zulu, Seamless, State Of The Eye, Twisted Fusion, Blackwiz, OFF, Phonetic, Go Deeva, Nervous, Motek, Cr2, and Faceless Recordings as release carriers, expect to hear a whole lot more Barber audio online and in your favourite discoteque.
