Diynamic’s recent member from the Netherlands released his first whole EP on the Hamburg based label. His debut shows that his production skills have evolved enourmously in the last few months which justifies his constant appearance on Diynamic. The opener is a dreamy track which literally takes you by the hand and leads you through cold winter days. The huge power of its warm melody and the supporting vocals by Terry Shand embrace all kinds of music tastes. Also the dub version of “Take My Hand” shows that Karmon’s productions are nothing but pure beat and sound facility. With “When Dark Becomes Light” Karmon creates a very connecting atmosphere between the name and the track itself. Its relaxed pianotunes and the short but very intense acoustical break unite wonderfully with the melodic basslines. The melody of that track gives you a typical Diynamic earworm, we all love so much. The second b side track “Feel It” is a beautiful composition of both free heavenly melodies and wonderfully arranged synth & basslines, giving its listeners a feeling of total clarity and inner consciousness. - WE FEEL IT!

The Original Mix is an effectively produced dancefloor anthem that applies to cross genre sets and aims to be seen on danceradio playlists worldwide. Melodic bass stabs and catchy rave piano's alternate, while the vocal cut supplies the soulful element. Three exclusive mixes are included in the package. First up is the Lars Moston & Teenage Mutants Remix, who serve up a deep and groovy edit, cut and trimmed for the dance floor. Antoine Garcin, AKA Acumen, is perhaps one of the hardest working men in the music business, although not for the reasons you might expect. Juggling studio-time alongside a career in pharmacy and fatherhood is no easy task, but he’s risen to the challenge with previous releases on Get Physical, Diynamic and Upon You. It also hasn’t compromised on the quality of this latest release for leena music, the nubile younger sibling of the almighty mobilee. leena has been steadily dispensing underground house and techno gems for over half a decade now, with a strong ethos on nurturing new talent from label friends and family.

Having simmered away at the periphery for quite some time, it would be misguided to say that Acumen is a newcomer, having garnered support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier and Loco Dice over the years. He’s also proven himself as a proficient selector, with gigs ranging from Berlin’s Panorama Bar to Studio 80 in Amsterdam.

The EP’s title track goes in strong with a peaktime, tech-house march through bright, single-note chord blasts and a frantic rolling drumbeat that commands the listener to the nearest dancefloor. “Internal Jungle”, on the other hand, combines chunky, low-end grooves with melancholy vocal refrains snatched from the ether, all underpinned by thick, undulating slabs of warm analogue bass. The EP ends on a high with “The Bug”, whose effervescent filtered strings and warm plucks serve to induce a sense of languid euphoria, one which is amplified by a fantastic vocal performance from Ruede Hagelstein.
