Abrimos este programa con un tributo a la cantante Farah María, recientemente fallecida. La presentamos junto a sus colegas Raúl Acosta y Miguel Ángel Piña, como parte del cuarteto de Méme Solís, repasamos algunas de las primeras grabaciones de la llamada "Gacela de Cuba".

Luego llega el trompetista Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros en dos tiempos, con sus sones montunos, primero junto al conjunto Arsenio Rodríguez y después con el Grupo Folklórico Experimental Nuevayorquino. Un gusto escuchar siempre al gran Virgilio Martí.

El rastro musical de ciertos olvidados compositores cubanos nos lleva al Nueva York de 1953, con el percusionista Ángel Duarte y un montuno chá que el Conjunto Casino dio a conocer en esa ciudad retomado después por el boricua Tito Rodríguez. 

El maestro Armando Manzanero, firme puntal de la canción y el bolero mexicanos, partió también en los últimos días de 2020. El saxofonista guantanamero Chombo Silva y el cuarteto vocal Los Zafiros nos acercan algo de su obra.

En la despedida el Conjunto de Arsenio Rodríguez de paso por La Habana. Últimas grabaciones registradas, a finales de los años 50, en pleno auge la crisis generada por la dictadura batistiana. De ahí su magnifico bolero "Adórenla como Martí", un canto antidictadura que no pierde su vigencia.
