Not so long now since our event in Pikes, so here is another promo mix exclusively for the Sunset Lovers from DJ and Producer from Belfast, Northern Ireland Nik Muzka.


Muzka is spinning music for nearly three decades. He developed a passion for music as a child, experimenting with mix tapes and scratching on his mom's Hifi. Influenced by hip-hop acts like Public Enemy and De La Soul, he gravitated towards DJing and was inspired by Grandmaster Flash, DJ Premier, and DJ Cash Money. At 15, he acquired his first set of turntables and became an avid record digger.


While initially mixing various genres like electro, funk, hip hop, disco, soul, and dub, Muzka's musical focus shifted after attending a Sabres Of Paradise show in Belfast at David Holmes and Iain McCreadys ‘Sugarsweet’ night. This experience introduced him to the world of house and techno music adding to his existing list of genres and prompting him to start his own Friday night event called 'Runaway' featuring a mix of DJs with diverse vinyl collections. Muzka went on to secure residencies, guest slots, and radio appearances, consistently embracing a wide range of genres and emphasizing that good music knows no boundaries.

Throughout his career, Muzka has supported and performed alongside notable artists such as Mr. Scruff, Scratch Perverts, DJ Shadow, and Goldie, among others. As his DJing journey progressed, he ventured into music production, making edits, and remixes, and eventually releasing his own tracks. His productions blend sampling, hardware synths, and drum machines, showcasing his unique sound. Recently, Muzka released an EP of leftfield electronica on The Freebooter Lounge label, with a forthcoming single featuring remixes by Ed Mahon, DJ Spanna, and more. He also contributed a track to Chris Coco's "The Chill Out Tent Ambient Vol 1" compilation.

Muzka remains active and engaged in his music career, holding a residency at Ulster Sports Club and lining up performances at venues such as Pikes and Word Of Mouth in Ibiza. He is collaborating with Warriors of the Dystotheque on a track for their upcoming album, displaying his ongoing dedication to creating and sharing his musical vision.
