We fell in love with this string-led and super smooth song from 1st listen at the Noir Music offices. Deephouse like it sounded “back in the day” and in general just a timeless effort by the Cambridge based guys.

We are absolutely thrilled to present Larse’s first EP on SUOL. This man from Dortmund has a long list of fantastic releases to his name, with originals and remixes on great labels such as DFA, Defected and Eskimo, to name just a few, as well as Beatport number ones, a BBC “Essential Tune”, one of the most influential German club music radio shows to date, a gold record, you name it… needless to say we are very proud to welcome this outstanding producer to our little SUOL family.

Larse’s trademark style is eclectic, smooth and soulful yet very danceable, which is just the way we like it here at SUOL, and this EP is no exception.

We kick things off with “Wanna Be Like You” featuring Lisa Shaw on vocals. The touching lyrics combined with Lisa’s beautiful voice perfectly complement the track with its lush harmonic synths and dreamy delays on top of a solid foundation of crisp kicks, hovering hi-hats and drawn out bass notes that will give you goose bumps.

Finnebassen has already had a phenomenal year. With "Touching Me" he has conquered the charts in many countries and captivated the audiences with his blend of deep house and funky vocals.

"Footsteps" is an altogether different beast. The melancholic core is coupled with jazzy overtones and slow ravishing drums. This track wasn't planned for a release but the boys were so enamored with it, they couldn't let it let go. The radio edit is set to rock stations across the globe.

Adriatique (Diynamic) brings the track to dance floor heights with their smart interpretation of "Footsteps". You are immediately immersed into the track by the strong wavelike kicks. Starting his career spinning records in the nineties, Larse very quickly made a name for himself in Germany. Bagging a residency with his very first DJ gig at the Tanzcafé in his hometown of Dortmund, his skills on the decks caught the attention of 1LIVE Radio (Europe’s biggest youth radio station and Germany’s equivalent to BBC Radio One) who gave him his own show. Larse hosted 1LIVE “Klubbing” alongside Mike Litt for over 15 years, earning him a nomination for the German Dance Award, many loyal followers as well as national and international bookings along the way
But it was Larse’s move into producing that really kicked things off. His 2011 release “The More I Want” was picked up by big names such as Jamie Jones and Tale Of Us and became a huge hit with Ibiza clubbers. His first EP “Nightshift” on Noir Music followed shortly afterwards and within a few months Larse reached the coveted number one spot of the all-important Beatport Deep House Top 100 for the first time with “So Long”, also released on Noir.
Intensive touring ensued with gigs at the world’s top clubs including Fabric/London, Sankeys/Manchester and Polar Lounge/New York to name only a few. More Beatport chart entries followed and Larse became a sought-after remixer. Among the music that was reworked in his smooth yet danceable style were tracks by Hollis P. Monroe, Noir & Westboy, Feed Me & Crystal Fighters as well as Candi Staton’s “Hallelujah Anyway” on Defected, which not only got him yet another Deep House number one on Beatport but was also picked as Pete Tong’s “Essential Tune” and even made it into the Top Twenty of the official Belgian charts, reaching gold status.
Now Larse is by no means resting on his laurels. He has already followed up with some high profile remixes on Exploited, Peppermint Jam, Defected, Dikso, Eskimo Recordings and D:Vision. Remixes for Lovebirds and Moonbootica and a Larse EP on his new home label Suol are scheduled for release in 2016.
