This is when I walked over the narrow market passages in Iquitos. It's quite a remote city in the rainforest of Perú with quite a tragical history. The city was very rich a few decades ago but nowadays, the unemployment rate is very high. There are no jobs anymore and crime raises immensely which causes a rare atmosphere in the city.

There is a story to this sound:
Around one year ago, I went to Isinliví, a small village in the mountains of Ecuador. I slept in a hostel and I met some other hikers there, too. Before I wanted to go to bed, I told the others that I still "want to record some frogs" as I realized there are a lot in a valley nearby. 
Of course they were curious, so I invited them to join me. So in the end, we were a group of seven people. I adjusted my recorder and told them to be quiet. This was a strange situation because we stood next to each other, without knowing each other, listening to frogs. It was one of these travel moments  which are special and memorable. I would always do this again.

I recorded this track in a restaurant in Timișoara and I found myself listening to nice music in the background. One of those peaceful travel moments. Enjoy!

I wandered around in Seattle Downtown, went down some stairs and heard a street musician. I liked the passion in the voice and asked her if I could record her singing in a natural ambience. This is what it sounded like.

When I visit cities, I try to go to botanical gardens. First, because it's mostly free. Seconds, because you never know what you will see.
In this case, the "garfield conservatory" (massive greenhouses) in Chicago surprised me.
After having seen all of the greenhouses, I sat down in front of the entrance. An old lady rushing into the building asked me "if she was right for the concert here". I said yes because I recognized some people building up some speakers inside the greenhouse. So I figured there's a concert. And it was. I went back inside and listened to a concert by a chinese group of children and teenagers from Shanghai. They were doing some kind of exchange program and this was a free concert in the evening.
Of course I listened to it and did some sound recordings. In this case, it is a tibetan folg song with a wonderful introduction in a strong chinese accent. Please Enjoy.
