"ASCENSION" is the debut album release from artist ston, an independently released project. 

For Ascension, I set out to explore hard house, bassline, and electronic elements throughout.

This body of work means a lot to me—it took up six months of my life and taught me so much about music production. It also taught me the importance of committing to what you set out to achieve and the struggles that can come with that. Most importantly, it showed me that imperfection is okay when the alternative is procrastination.

I created this album using the DAW FL Studio, and as of its release, I’ve begun transitioning to Ableton—a commitment I set for myself when I first began this project.
Through this experience, I’ve learned that moving forward, I want to dive into more intricate ideas and trust my creative process without falling into the trap of comparing my work to others. I’m eager to experiment with more abstract percussions, deeper emotional progressions, and unconventional grooves. It’s going to be a journey, but I’m excited for it to begin.

Dans une boulangerie au coin de la rue, un client fantasque fit son entrée sous la mélodie enjouée d'un clavier biscornu, joué par le boulanger lui-même, un virtuose farfelu. Le client, vêtu d'un chapeau haut-de-forme et d'un manteau à pois violets, s'avança avec un pas de danse digne d'une comédie musicale.

"Bonjour, bonjour, mes bons boulangers de la baguette et du rire ! Je voudrais commander un croissant, deux petits pains, et une part de forêt noire, s'il vous plaît. Mais attention, pas une forêt sombre, une forêt noire, comme ma tasse de café le matin !"

Le boulanger, esquissant un sourire, répondit avec une pirouette joyeuse : "Bien sûr, monsieur ! Nous avons tout ce qu'il vous faut pour égayer votre journée. Attendez-vous à un spectacle culinaire !"

Pendant que le boulanger s'affairait à préparer la commande loufoque, la musique s'intensifia, accompagnée par le cliquetis des ustensiles de cuisine transformés en instruments de percussion. Les sacs de farine se mirent à danser un ballet improvisé, et les rouleaux à pâtisserie devinrent des baguettes de chef d'orchestre.

Le client, enchanté par cette farandole inattendue, se mit à tournoyer sur lui-même, ajoutant sa propre touche de folie à la symphonie boulangère. Le tout se déroulait dans une cacophonie joyeuse, transformant la boulangerie en un cabaret de l'absurde.

Finalement, le boulanger présenta la commande avec un salut excentrique : "Voilà, monsieur, un croissant aussi doré que le soleil, deux petits pains dignes d'une valse, et une forêt noire qui ferait danser même les arbres !"

Le client, ravi, fit une révérence théâtrale en s'écriant : "Merci, mes amis farineux et farfelus ! Que la fête des papilles commence !" Et il sortit de la boulangerie en sifflotant, laissant derrière lui un arrière-goût de comédie sucrée.
