This is the first melody I was taught by my grandmother. The piano is a recording of her playing the melody on the same piano she taught me on. I was also very annoying as a child hence the fart noises and groan stick.

I remember my sister and brother who passed 29 years ago.

Memories

I wrote this song about a feeling I had when I played Need For Speed III on the Aquatica track. Something about the vastness and sporadic environment really ingrained itself into my memory. From the beautiful architecture, to the water features, to the lush jungle environments, to the softly lit tunnels, to the underwater aquarium, to the calm boat docks, there was just so much beauty and creativity represented with such simple polygons and pixels. Truly one of my favorite memories growing up and one that has stuck with me even to this day.

This track reminds me of moments with my father as a young child. He was a hard working man, and came from a place and time where providing for ones family meant devoting his time and energy to earning money and putting food on the table. His was a sacrifice, of sorts. As a boy, I wasn’t fully aware of the need for my fathers attention and guidance on a softer and more emotional level; I grew comfortable in solitude and independence. That realization only came to me as an adult, and looking back, made the rare times that he did bestow his attention on me all the more special. This track evokes memories of kicking a soccer ball around the park on a frigid sunday morning, tumbling through the waves at the beach in Cornwall, and seeing my dads huge, warm smile… when he was free of adult responsibilities for just a brief moment in time.

Miss You

May 31 2020, the day after my wedding....  the world is rioting.  There are marches in every major city and tons of small towns.  I'm sitting semi hungover and watching a March about a block away from me.  My family is telling me to sit this one out because I justbgot married......  the tension of the world meets the excitement of prospects of a new life......
