Querencia goes beyond the physical, encompassing a mental and emotional state of being. Querencia refers to a space where an individual feels a sense of belonging, safety, and strength. It is the sanctuary where one's true self emerges, and from which they draw courage and empowerment.

In the context of bullfighting, querencia represents the specific spot in the ring where a bull feels secure and powerful, returning to it during the fight. This use of the term illustrates its connection to a personal refuge, a place that provides solace and resilience in the face of challenges.

More broadly, querencia can be a metaphor for any location or circumstance where a person feels completely at ease, free to express their whole self without judgment or societal expectations. It embodies a sense of connection to one's roots, personal strength, and a deep understanding of oneself.
