Another MIDI I found and remixed and rearranged a bit.  The bass might be a bit too much but it's one of the staples of this track.  Originally the track was just the lead and the bass.  I expanded it just a bit.  The beauty of this track is how simple it is.  I've heard remixes that were orchestrated and complete with drums but adding too much seems to take away from it.  I actually had some drums in this at first but again, the track is best when relatively simple.  Hope you like!

Kraids Lair - Metroid - NES [REMIX]

'Labrynthine' is about navigating ones own mind, and learning how to cope with the issues that plague you on a day to day basis. It has a jumpy/ happy feeling because its supposed to represent coming out of a deep intense depression and realizing things get better with time. Your mind is a maze but once you figure out how to beat it things Do get better. A man's greatest enemy is one's own mind.

Another Lakehouse performance. I particularly like this one because of how the guitar solo ends. I felt like the tone was spot on.  This was an original PEG song before written early on but was a song we played at every gig.  Like Mary Poppins, it evolved in how it sounded.  That's the great thing about music; you can make it however you like.

Superstar - Live at Lakehouse

Way back a few years ago this was one of the first songs I put together. Always liked this one. I wanted to give it a little bit of a makeover. The earlier version is more simplistic and I know a little more about mixing now (though I'm far from an expert). That said, the music is basically the same but I've added in a little more in the way of drums. It's discernibly different from the original. I might redo a few other earlier songs.

Twisted Twin - 2017

Almost there.  Maybe a few more tweaks to it.  Then again, I hate to keep screwing around with it.  Some of the timing is a hair off on the piano parts.  Ah, the perfectionist in me...  Anyhow, I liked the progression of going from the original track to this one.

I love music and I've loved it for as long as I can remember.  I'm not talking about loving the latest single on the radio.  I mean a deep passion for great music, old and new, and of nearly any genre (sorry I gotta draw the line at NEW country).

I can attribute my love for it to my mom mostly but my dad played his part too.  I grew up listening to classical, some 80s pop, and what is now classic rock. Now my son is following in the tradition, becoming an amazing guitar player and musician. I'd like to put some of his work on this channel at some point.

This page is just my dabblings into the world of MIDI/DAW which is completely new to me.  Guitar was the instrument I fell in love with but the possibilities with an audio workstation are just endless.  I hope you enjoy the tracks.  The one thing I really need to master is, well, mastering.  Music can be amazing but if it isn't mixed right, it won't sound good at all.

A few months back I started remixing video game music as I discovered this amazing site http://vgmusic.com/ which has TONS of nostalgic video game music in the form of MIDI files. I try to credit the author/sequencer but some do not have a name listed. So I'm linking to the site in general as I only make small modifications to the sequences (instrument changes, BPM changes, add/remove instruments, etc). I want to give credit where it's due and I'm thankful those guys work hard at making the MIDIs available for everyone to enjoy.
