Originally written as a poem by Mahmoud Darwish - often referred to as the national poet of Palestine - 'Oh My Father, I Am Joseph' is one of his most famous works.

In 1995, Lebanese composer and Oud player Marcel Khalife set music to the poem. Shortly after, Khalife found himself faced with criminal charges, accused of blasphemy and of insulting Islam.

The song is included on Moddi's album 'Unsongs' – 12 banned songs from 12 countries – out now via Propeller Recordings.
