This track comes from a very emotional moment in my life. “I Lift You High” is about that rare feeling when someone lifts your spirit at the exact moment you’re falling apart. I tried to capture the warmth, the tension, and the fragile hope inside that moment. The whole progressive-dub flow is built around one emotion, the feeling of rising above the darkness, even if just for a few minutes.

With 'Ghost' we welcome Belgium producer Audio Cycles to ICONYC. He delivers an irresistible track that kicks things off nicely with the melancholic vibes setting the tone. He roams effortlessly through progressive inspired melodies, while the sultry chords sit wonderfully on top of the driving percussive foundation. Audio cycles takes it up a notch by adding 90's influenced vocals and an extra layer of depth, whilst upping the flow with cleverly programmed drumming and his trademark FX elements, without destroying the essence of the main groove. 

On remix duty we welcome none other than Pole Folder. The Belgium producer has been a mainstay in the electronic music world for the better part of a decade. Pole Folder who is known for his driving and refined sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general drive all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear yet sounding totally fresh - This massive touch up takes the energy quantities up a level and increases the drive with stripped back and lucid elements, before the energetic groove creates a blanket of warmth that will put a smile on your face. His rework deserves to be branded 'essential' in any sense of the word.

Praised for his genre-defying style, Valencia based artist AFFKT is an ambassador of melodic techno and contemporary electronic music of thousand faces. This EP for LNOE is a good example of his versatility and skills.

“Assault” is rhythmically free flowing and sprawling, with synth melodies that evolve into rippling keys. No less catchy and sensorial is the sound provided on “Penjoll”. Narcotic and mysterious, but still a powerful and gripping journey which works perfect to set the mood of any mix.

This 3-track EP is completed with a really unique flavour given by “Ippon”. On this cut AFFKT also detail his enthusiasm for experimenting with different melodies and electronic frequencies and how they affect our bodies and minds. A track laden with romance and retrowave 80’s synth wonderfulness. Emotive and danceable quality music.

One of Drumcode’s finest, Bart Skils returns for his first solo EP since 2018.

Bart Skils remains one of the label’s most consistent achievers going back to his debut in 2012. Eight original EPs, a stellar remix of Moby ‘Go’ and his now-classic collaboration with Adam Beyer ‘Your Mind’ have entrenched him as a DC treasure. All the while the Dutchman plays a nurturing role with the label’s nu-skool brigade, regularly playing B2B with Layton Giordani and teaming up with Weska for last summer’s ‘Polarize’ two-tracker.

His ninth Drumcode EP ‘Settle In The Sun’ delivers the first productions from his new studio after six months of preparation. The title track was inspired by an extended stay in LA over New Years, channelling the energy of Venice Beach’s vibrant skate culture to create an uplifting, big riff weapon. ‘Tropical Heat’ took influence from Bart’s experiences touring South America, as an evocative vocal sample and rave-kissed melody line run alongside a wicked rolling groove. ‘Shiva Says’ is a peak-time, brain-mangler in the best of ways, driven by a monster synth line that grows and contorts as the track progresses.

Matthias Meyer and a trio label of debutants make up the fourth instalment of the much-loved ‘Watergate Affairs’ series.
 
Initiated in 2016, the series assembles a collection of top-quality tracks that otherwise could not fit into Watergate’s busy release schedule, such is the strong pool of music the label draws from.

Emerging Dutch producer Budakid joins the label with ‘Orrery’, after previously making an impact with cuts on Last Night On Earth, Einmusika and Lost & Found. The track’s dreamy soundscapes and otherworldly energy make for a transcendental mood maker. Matthias Meyer is suitably superb with ‘Interlude’, as delicate strings and a muffled melody line gently wash against a shore of sparse beats. Henri Bergmann & Julian Wassermann link for ‘Maenad’, as punchy grooves bring the EP into peak-time territory as a multi-layered chord pattern hits with a satisfying headrush. Danish artist Nandu rounds out the package with ‘My Mystery Is A Mystery’. It’s the kind of succulent end-of-nighter every set needs as uplifting pads, stirring keys and a buttery bassline glide together in sweet unison.

Transensations Records welcomes the rising talent from Stockholm, EMPHI , presenting his progressive sounds with Swedish touch on the EP "Pair of Dice" , alongside great remixes from the Argentinians producers KABI (AR) and Lelio Monte. The main title brings a mysterious atmosphere, with crystallised ambiences, pads and synthesizers. KABI imprints his personal signature with a well crafted progressive roller, adding a lot of percussion. The B side "Spill the Tea" , emphasises the melodic hypnosis with uplifting synths, and Lelio Monte closes the EP delivering a powerful and atmospheric version of the track. Definitely, a quality release perfect for those who are seeking some flawless tunes for their sets.
