Next up on Sasha's Last Night On Earth is Jon Gurd with a stellar new four track EP 'After It All'.

'Now' is a deep, heart-felt mystical ride carried along by a deliciously drawn out bottom line, wonderfully evolving strings and pads joined by wispy vocals. Driven by a solid kick the track is alleviated by the introduction of improvised synth chimes and added percussion.

Without doubt the chunkiest track on the EP has to be 'For Us'. The strong thud of a kick drum sits dominant on top a quiet mass of layered drums until dropping out, making way for a growth of delayed stabs, arpeggiated undertones and lush leads. Building in atmosphere, we crescendo as kick falls back in to place. A technical masterpiece on the manipulation of feelings through sound.

'I'm Going Home' carries the same unconventional electro-style kick pattern the rest of the EP champions. However, the premise of this track is built upon its growth, fattening up through delicately placed melodic synth textures, blankets of extraordinary percussion and pitchy panned vocals.

Last up is title track 'After It All', a deep, emotive journey filled with beautifully played key progressions, muted broken beats, organic percussion and an orchestral modulated loop.

A core member of the Oberbaumbrücke family delivers a sleek label debut.

As the club’s technician, Joris Biesmans (aka Biesmans) has been an invaluable fixture at Watergate for the last five years. A true audiophile, when he’s not tuning WG’s soundsystem to perfection, he’s building modular synths and honing his studio craft.

Having recently quit his technician job to focus on making music full time, he’s a new addition to the WG agency roster and follows suits with an impressive debut EP on the label, after releases on Correspondent, AEON and Adana Twins’ TAU. The title track ‘Electric Love’ is a chugging slice of electro, marked by lush key progressions and an attitude-drenched vox from newcomer Idorski. Marvin & Guy Amplifier are tapped for remix duties and inject the original with a celestial melody line primed for end-of- night moments. ‘Technician on a Mission’ is driven by a polished bassline that modulates throughout, while 80s synths give it a retro-future stamp. ‘City Boy’ is a modern day synthwave gem, reinforcing the breadth of sound espoused by Watergate Records.

● Lyrically​ the song deals with ​hardship, loss, pain and desperation​ and the protagonist feels helpless and lonely.... ● Musically​ the remix starts with a ​deep​ percussive​ tech-house groove​ and a heavy bassline. In the break the haunting vocal chants fuse with the original acoustic guitars before the main​ synth hook​ opens up with ​massive filter LFO​s and the tension keeps rising. The main vocal exclaims the main message of the song and reverbs and drums keep pushing until the song climaxes with the ​massive kick​ entering again. The remix then keeps grooving into the dawn...
