Encapsulating a sense of deep wanderlust, Sam Cave's sensual take on R&B pop will entrance you deep into an escapist existentialism. In his youth, Sam has been on an introspective mission - galivanting across the North American Coastline seeking discomfort amongst a sea of open-mic nights, lonely Canadian Winters, and niche music festivals - all in the name of realising his musical voice. 

After three years of cutting his teeth as a solo artist, in 2021 Sam made the bold decision to return back to Australia to grow his professional team and master his sound - carefully crafting away at his soon to be released debut EP.

Groundwerk Recordings is a label driven by art>ego. Groundwerk’s sound reflects the moody depth of an urban landscape existing between ocean and forest. From bright and outgoing summer days to dark and heavy winter nights, our releases aim to tell the story of the four seasons experienced in our west coast city.

Music featured on this label has sprouted from grassroots music community initiatives in Vancouver, Canada. The most predominant of these initiatives is the Groundwerk Listening Party, a monthly social meet-up for music enthusiasts to connect and collaborate. With these events gaining momentum, Groundwerk Recordings is born, ready to present its community of artists to the world.

At these Listening Parties, the music listened to throughout the night is submitted by local artists leading up to the event. Each event features a keynote presentation on a range of topics relevant to pushing the music scene forward in Vancouver. These events are informal affairs, not simply for producers, but anyone who enjoys and appreciates local music.

An old soul Dougie (he/him) blends soaring melodies and heartfelt Lyrics. 
From humble beginnings he began songwriting at a young age, touring with rock bands across the UK.In search of new inspiration, Scottish born Dougie has traversed the globe, collecting stories and settled in British Columbia, where he is quickly making a name for himself as a powerful and dynamic alternative folk songwriter. 

Dougie is proud to have played a sold out show in iconic Scottish Venue, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, played festivals including Belladrum UK, Summerset BC, The Edininburgh Fringe Festival, VMF, BC and supported Gerry Cinnamon in the UK. He’s showcased at Folk Alliance. Dougie is honoured to be a Godin Guitars Artist here in Canada and previously represented Tanglewood Guitars as an ambassador in the UK. 
He is currently in the studio recording new music to be released, Spring 2024.

Duo Lindalouise and Dougie met in a dimly lit bar where Dougie was singing in a tiny Scottish town many years ago.
They fell in love, married and,  moved halfway across the world. One day Lindalouise with shaky hands, took a journal of songs that she’d been secretly writing to Dougie, a writer she deeply admired.
It was just over two years ago they decided to embrace a new journey.
What We Embrace tells stories, some triumphant, some less so.
Their sound is teetering between Indie Folk and New Americana, voices blending, lifting, and weaving in unexpected places. 
Each song is a journey through heartbreak, love, uncertainty, and redemption. 
They make music for the dreamers, the broken, and the yet-to-be-found.
