The L.A. Swing Barons are a Los Angeles based big band paying tribute to the greatest bands of the swing era. We specialize in recreating the famous Kansas City sound of the late 30's and 40's, such as the great Count Basie Orchestra. This style of music was famous for being the very best dance music out there in a time when everyone who was anyone knew how to dance. We also have a close affinity for the Duke Ellington repertoire, as well as music from many other great bands of the swing era. Bob Reynolds is a saxophonist, composer, and educator known for his work with John Mayer and Snarky Puppy. He has worked with Michael Bublé, Usher, Josh Groban, Amos Lee, Richard Bona, Eric Harland, Aaron Goldberg, Bernie Worrell and Leo Nocentelli, among others. He’s composed over 50 songs, released 6 albums, and received 4 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards. 2013's Somewhere In Between hit #1 on iTunes’ Jazz charts. A summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music, Reynolds lives in Los Angeles. His online saxophone lessons were recently profiled in The New York Times.

Recently relocating to Paris, Hetty is often credited with an ‘effortless’ vocal style. One of Australia’s busiest jazz vocalists, Hetty sings with her own bands as well as touring with Australian jazz legend James Morrison for over four years. 

In the last decade she has toured in Asia, Europe and North America and joined the Melbourne, Tasmanian, Hong Kong, Auckland, Christchurch and Sydney Symphony Orchestras for James Morrison’s popular show ‘The A to Z of Jazz’. Personal highlights include performing at the Sydney Opera House and joining the Amazing Keystone Big Band (FR) for their West Side Story concert, as Maria.

Equally at home delivering a poetic ballad as fronting a hot swing band, Hetty’s lyrical delivery, natural sound and impeccable timing truly set her apart from her contemporaries.
