Empire State v real-estate empire: Donald Trump’s legal woes

Tom Stoppard’s "Arcadia" merges science with human concerns and ideals, examining the universe’s influence in our everyday lives and ultimate fates through the relationship between past and present, order and disorder, and the certainty of knowledge. Set in an English country house in the years 1809-1812 and 1989, the play examines the lives of two modern scholars and the house’s current residents with the lives of those who lived there 180 years earlier.

"Arcadia" stars Kate Burton as Hannah Jarvis, Peter Paige as Valentine, Gregory Itzin as Bernard Nightingale, Jennifer Dundas as Thomasina Croom, Douglas Weston as Septimus Hodge, and Mark Capri as Ezra Chater, with Christopher Neame, Darren Richardson, Kate Steele, Serena Scott Thomas, and David Manis. Arcadia (Part 1)

In honor of the incomparable Leonard Nimoy we present a special broadcast of "War of the Worlds." The breathless pace and convincing details of this radio classic make it clear why the 1938 broadcast of an “eyewitness report” of an invasion from Mars caused a nationwide panic in 1938. Originally performed by Orson Welles and his Mercury Theatre of the Air, "War of the Worlds" is truly the mother of all space invasions, offering a rare combination of chills, thrills and great literature.

"War of the Worlds" stars Leonard Nimoy as Professor Pierson, with John de Lancie, Brent Spiner, Gates McFadden, Armin Shimerman, Wil Wheaton, Jerry Hardin, Dwight Schultz, Meagan Fay, and Tom Virtue. Live sound effects by Amy Strong. Our director is John de Lancie.

War of the Worlds

Explorer George Kourounis finds himself growing increasingly anxious as he prepares to enter a fiery sinkhole known as the “Doorway to Hell.”

George Kourounis is a renowned global explorer and storm chaser who specializes in documenting extreme forces of nature including: tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes, deserts, caves, avalanches and more. He is an Explorer In Residence for The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, the Chairman of the Explorers Club Canadian Chapter, and has received several awards and medals for his efforts. He frequently finds himself driving into the eye of fierce storms, or descending ropes into actively erupting volcanic craters, often while hosting television programs including “Angry Planet” and others.  He has given four TEDx talks, and has addressed the United Nations Environmental Emergencies Forum. George’s expeditions have taken him to 65 countries on all seven continents to such far-flung places as: Madagascar, Turkmenistan, Vanuatu, Greenland, North Korea, Myanmar, and Antarctica.

Diamonds in the Sky

Though its official name is JFK Plaza, the open space near Philadelphia’s City Hall is more commonly known as LOVE Park.  With its sleek granite benches, geometric raised planter beds, and long expanses of pavement, its success as a pedestrian plaza is debatable.  But it turned out to be perfect for skateboarding.  As skateboarding culture grew in the 1990s, LOVE Park became a Mecca of the skating world--even though skateboarding was officially banned there.  

Skateboarder and radio producer Andrew Norton takes us for a ride through the surprising history of LOVE Park, and pulls back the curtain on a decades-old battle over public space in Philadelphia and beyond.
