A “D.J.” is a technician. A manipulator of sound and emotion using blends, slams and scratches to smoothly transition from one song to the next making melodies that arouse the senses. DJ Remixes make even the best song BETTER! Perfect timing and song selection are but a few of the weapons in the DJ arsenal.  Reading the room and connecting to the listeners can enable the selector to chose the song that can change the mood of a thousand people at once.

Known as a “lawyer by day, DJ by night,” Alan King is one of the early members of the legendary Chicago-based DJ crew, the Chosen Few DJs (now consisting of Alan, Wayne Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Terry Hunter, Andre Hatchett and Mike Dunn).  In the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, the Chosen Few DJs was a group of popular DJs from the city’s south side who played their unique brand of soulful dance music to huge crowds at Chicago night spots of historic importance in the birth and development of house music, including Sauer’s, First Impressions, the Playground and the Loft.  Alan’s influence on the house music landscape has been felt for more than 40 years, and he has been cited as an inspiration by countless DJs including legendary house music DJs and producers Frankie Knuckles, Steve "Silk" Hurley and Chip E.  Alan still regularly plays to rave reviews at clubs and events throughout Chicago, the United States and across the world.  The Chosen Few DJs also host the annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic each July 4th weekend in Chicago, one of the largest and longest running house music festival events in the world!

Over 20 years experience in playing all genres of music in, Japan, Guam, Korea, Orlando, Coco Beach, St. Louis, Dallas and Chicago. Residencies held in Chicago at: Tini Martini, Club Escape, The Loft Lounge, Bar 3, The Crocodile Lounge,The Loft & Black Cat Lounge,The Dating Game And Reds. I'm Currently A Resident At Darrins Lounge In Chicago Every Last Sunday. From 2003-05 I was an on air personality and mix DJ on the longest running house music mix show in Chicago, Friday Night Audio 89.3 FM WKKC and also 88.5 FM WHPK. I can also be heard Thursdays on www.housestationradio.com from 9am-11am (CST) & Fridays On Friday Night Audio 89.3FM Chicago Or www.wkkc.fm from 8pm-9pm (CST).
