Jamie Jones launched the Hot Creations label back in 2010 with 'Ruckus'. Now Jamie makes his long awaited return to Hot Creations with 'Planets, Spaceships', a four-track EP set for vinyl release on 18th November 2013.

These tracks have been Jamie's secret battle weapons all summer. Tapping into a dark sider but with that distinctive Jamie Jones melody and drive that are a signature feature of his DJ sets. Title track 'Planets, Spaceships' features vocalist Daniela Caldellas from Digitaria, who has an album planned for Hot Creations in the new year, whilst 'Cookie Monster', 'Starp Trek' and 'Stick' take things even deeper with vocal snatches and crisp claps.

Highlighting his avant-garde style and showcasing exactly why he is recognised as one of the leading figures in the rebirth of house music, 'Planets, Spaceships' further cements Jamie's place in the dance music hall of fame.

Definition welcomes Dene Antony a second time to the family with his 3 track heavy – house EP ‘Take Me Higher’, including a remix from the prodigal Kevin Over.

Naturally opening the EP with the title track, Dene fills the room with warm tones and a deep grooving bass. He’s achieved a beautiful classical-house vibe with vocals reminiscent of the early 90’s house tracks that rocked the world then and serve as a standard today, a standard that ‘Take Me Higher’ more than lives up to.
The second original tune on the EP is ‘The Blue’s’. This one wanders more into the acid-house genre with its 303 bass line croaking along as pads rise behind it before a scratchy monologue takes our attention.
Kevin Over takes ‘Take Me Higher’ to new heights with his remix. Stripping the track down and adding a sense of urgency. Taking the original warm vibes and putting them on edge with contagious percussion. After the break though, he brings the piano back to fill the rooms with sunshine once again, and ending the EP with a fantastic remix of an already brilliant track.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels. Atmospheric swells are pieced by gatling-gun snares; the tension builds but never releases, making this a surefire precursor to the bulk of heavyweight set climaxes you're likely to hear this summer. It’s not often that a breakthrough producer manages to cause major hype after just one release but when that artist is from the UK, putting out a brilliant EP on Moodymann’s Mahogani Music, you start to realize how it happened in Dan Shake’s case. Now it’s time for Dan to build on this incredible start and from the way things are looking it’s safe to say it’s all going in the right direction. Another rising star from the UK is Wolf Music regular Medlar who has been making serious waves the last 5 years. Remixes for the likes of Glenn Astro and Disclosure have all helped put him in the spotlight and his debut LP Sleep from 2013 delivered in spades. So when the news that these two were joining forces for a collaborative project reached us here at D.O.G we wanted in on the action.
The lead track entitled Walk has all the hallmarks of a long-lost Detroit house classic but with a UK touch that adds just the right amount of polish to the dusty MPC beats and phasing rhodes chord. Soulphiction adds a slightly deeper edge on his remix but keeps the vocals in place and pushes the beats in an altogether housier direction. Finally we have I On You completing the EP in fine style with a more soul-tinged track but keeping the groove and bassline positively roughed up ensuring things stay raw and underground.

Texas-bred, San Francisco-schooled and Berlin based producer, DJ and vocalist Kevin Knapp makes his first solo appearance on Hot Creations. Already a massive Summer Anthem for the Hot Creations and Paradise Crew.. this is shaping up to be one of the singles of the Summer.

Equally adept in the studio, on the decks and behind the mic, Kevin Knapp has emerged from the bustling Bay Area dance music community to international attention, with support from the likes of Matt Tolfrey, Richy Ahmed, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Eats Everything, Claude VonStroke and Audiojack. It was only a matter of time before Knapp heard the call of the global techno capital, relocating to Berlin in early 2013.
