Ren Gettz was born Renaldo Gettridge in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been around music since the age of 14. He decided to take music seriously at the age of 18, when his friend Corey Lewis was shot and killed a few houses away from his home. With a drive for music, his ambition was at an all time high to change the pattern of "local" HipHop artist and HipHop music all together. A former "Fly Society" artist by the name of Joey Queens discovered Ren Gettz's talent from local barbers Sayf Amireh and Oscar AKA Toasta. With a distinct sound separating him from most New Orleans artist, Ren Gettz raised eyebrows. By the age of 19 Renaldo had recorded his first mixtape titled "Black America" which had features from Jet Life's Recording artist Curren$y and YMCMB'S own Mack Maine. Ren Gettz later opened up for artist such as Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Stalley, Smoke DZA, The Lox, Rich Homie Quan and many more. He is now pushing an independent project titled "Get Familiar" which is available for download on www.Howflyhiphop.com and www.soundcloud.com/OfficialRenGettz.
