Transmission for Palestine is an initiative in solidarity with the decades-long Palestinian struggle coordinated by Ankali and Radio Laude. On Sunday and Monday we will stream music from all the corners of the world to gather funds that will be distributed between the Palestine Child Relief Fund and the Urgent Humanitarian Aid to Gaza campaign, whose work is to provide medical care to those that have been the most vulnerable to the violence. We do this in the wake of a 10-day long violence period which ended in a ceasefire earlier today and left behind death and destruction from which the affected community will take long to heal.

In the face of an asymmetrical conflict, we are supporting those overpowered and weak in the face of blatant injustice. The threat to the wellbeing of the Israeli population, while real, cannot be compared to the existential risk or stress undergone by the Palestinian people and it is visible in the disproportionate number of deaths, injuries, material destruction and trauma present on both sides. We want to raise our voice for those who can’t.

It’s August 2021 and this time the podcast series is back with yet another rising artist from South-America. The Argentinian Vanoni, who now resides in Buenos Aires, serves up a truly smashing mix for us. 

Originally from Patagonia, Vanoni was able to kickstart his passion for music production and DJ-ing in full devotion from the year 2018 onwards. His productions are mostly affected by hypnotic and abstract sounds, usually induced by sonically rich harmonies and an extraordinary sense of cosmic drama. It’s fair to say that Vanoni’s latest recordings and releases, characterized by enveloping textures, tribalistic sounds and reverberating pads, deserve to be put right in the spotlight. 

Impressively, Vanoni managed to release his work on labels like Danza Nativa, Ritualism, From A Lost Place, and N F E R E E to name a few. Besides, he has put together various other first-class podcasts for labels such as The Memoir. With the recording you’re about to listen, he clearly follows up on this quality. Sit tight for a pleasant and energetic pace, driven by repetition and hypnotic pads that seem to bend space and time. Enjoy.

Emily Jeanne is establishing herself as one of the most promising artists in the Belgian hypnotic scene, and progressively has crafted a sound  that conciliate innovation and tradition.

This mix was originally recorded for Art Bei Ton podcast serie. Emily plays with a palette of ambients and rhythms that space from experimental percussive elements to more classic hypnotic sounds, in an extremely well sewed atmospheric frame.

This is an extract from the two hours journey of DASHA RUSH at the Kuboraum Gallery in Berlin during the third episode of their event series held during Berlin Atonal Festival since 2015 (www.berlin-atonal.com). 
DASHA RUSH is the best example of sophistication, perfectionism and beautiful execution in the scenario of electronic music. DJ, performer and producer on labels such as Raster-Noton and her own Fullpanda imprint. Operating in the abstract regions of techno and coming from a visual background, Marco Shuttle has carved out his own little niche in recent years. Releasing on outlets such as Time To Express, The Bunker and Clone, Marco Shuttle's journeying..

Marco Shuttle has always achieved a lot with a little, and that is the singular aesthetic that stands him apart. His cinematic techno sounds are unusually organic: they build pressure in subtle ways and his meticulous grooves never fail to take listeners on a trip to somewhere new and exciting. As a result of this, he has become a firm favourite amongst the techno cognoscenti and has released on some of the most revered labels of the day, from famed New York club The Bunker’s new label to Peter van Hoesen’s untouchable Time To Express via Clone SOS and his regular home, Eerie Records.
Italian born but London based, where he also gained his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s. What ties his creative work together is a focus on abstract yet organic texture and the same thing defines his tightly woven DJ sets from fabric to Berghain to Labyrinth in Japan. His eclectic cerebral sound takes cues from jazz and musique concrete as much as it does from acid house and Detroit techno.
Early breakout records like his 'The Vox Attitude' have been followed up with great abstract outings on Clone and remixes for Third Side, whilst the future promises a collaboration with compatriot and fellow producer and friend Donato Dozzy as Anxur. It will land on Eerie, Marco’s own well-formed label and is sure to be another supple and succulent offering that proves Marco Shuttle to be a uniquely minded techno troubadour.

Q1. How and where was the mix recorded? Could you tell us about the idea behind the mix?
The title of the mix is "Time Transmission."
This is a keyword that came from the subtitle of my party, "Archiv." It's a techno mix, and I recorded this imagining how the music sounds like its bending the axis of time, bringing that feeling of connecting to the future to the audience.
This mix was recorded home with my recently updated gears. I wanted to bring out its best into this mix, so I used ALLEN&HEATH XONE:92 4ch to speed it up, and the looping feature from Pioneer XDJ700 to extract the smallest details. I put my full effort, so this can become something that can represent me regardless of my changing styles.

ミックスのタイトルはTimeTransmission”です。
僕が主催するパーティ「Archiv」のサブタイトルでもあるキーワードです。
Techno Musicで、本来持つ時間軸が歪んで、未来に繋がる感覚を届ける気持ちで録音しました。使用機材を最近刷新したばかりの自宅スタジオで録音しました。
可能な限りそのポテンシャルを活かすために、ALLEN&HEATH XONE:92の4chを使いミックスのテンポを早めたり、Pioneer XDJ700のループ機能でミニマル部分だけを抽出したりを試しました。自分のプレイスタイルが刻々と変化する中で、このミックスが一つの代名詞になるように、気持を込めてレコーディングしました。
