Confused

Thanks to all the happy faces who stayed up all night or who set their dusty alarm clocks to come and dance with us Wednesday morning. Having been on the other side of the speakers for many a sunrise it was a treasured moment to play this music, which holds a lot of emotions for many of us.

We want to thank Fleetwood Mac for the original magic and Robot Heart for creating the opportunity to crank it loud and proud. The edits and remixes included were created by us (Roxanne Roll and Smooth Sailing) and many of our producer friends who we’d like to thank for their work and passion: Psychemagik, In Flagranti, Antenna Happy, Twin Sun, Dean Kenny, Youth Edits, Cosmic Kids and Trail Mix.

Like us all I’ve spent last few months in lockdown watching news and videos of people across the globe coming together in support of #BLM and taking a stand against racism and oppression yet again.
I watched and the voices of the protesters moved me, and stuck in my head.
I wanted to express how I felt so I made this old fashioned DJ mix using cut up vocals from the powerful speeches and placing them over tracks; that told a story-from violent beginning to (hopefully) uplifting and life affirming end.

Laura’s musical career blasted into being as part of the indie scene in Toronto, Canada, where she founded her band Scorpion Chainsaw Operation Booze Orgy  (aka SCOBO).  Her  politically charged lyrics and rockin’ sounds quickly earned SCOBO regular gigs at Canada's hottest venues and festivals.  Laura has kicked off her solo career against the backdrop of Dublin, Ireland, where she now lives.
