In the 80s and 90s, as a singer/songwriter, and while living in New York City, Julie frequently participated in the New York Folk Festival, invited to the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas as a featured singer/songwriter, was a featured performer at several CMJ Music Conferences while having had widespread college radio play across the country.
