DJ, producer and promoter Mark Wilson, recognised for his own style of upfront vocal house.

His passion for music began over 20 years ago inspired by the unique sounds of the Leeds club scene and Leeds DJ’s.

Since then he has had the privilege of playing for some of the most renowned brands across the UK. Marks career highlights include playing at the History of House, Retro, Pukka Up boat party in Ibiza and at the world famous Eden to name a few. Not stopping there, Mark has also held residencies at Love to be, Glasshouse, back2funky ,Vocal and guest slots at some of the best clubs and festivals across the North of UK. 

Alongside his DJ career Mark produces and remixes his own music which has been released on Maison, Phonetic, Tiefblau, Pink Fish and Orange Groove Records.

In 1985 Champion hired its first employee, an 18 year old named Paul Oakenfold who had been working as messenger boy in New York. Champion Records aimed at releasing underground club tunes, Hip Hop, Rare Grooves, Jazz & Soul tracks as well as uplifting House tunes on 12” vinyl originally found and licensed from the USA. Tunes like Spank ‘Oh Baby’, Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince ‘Girls Ain’t Nothin’ But Trouble’, Salt ‘N Pepa ‘Push it’ & Rene & Angela ‘Secret Rendezvous’.

As musical taste evolved Champion aligned itself with the early house and garage movement. It produced iconic tracks including Raze’s ‘Break 4 Love’, Robin S ‘Show Me Love’, Sandy B ‘Make The World Go Round’, Kristine W ‘Feel What You Want’ & Sybil ‘Don’t Make me Over’. These then turned into some of the most famous & credible artists in the world along with DJ’s like Todd Terry, Kerri Chandler, Junior Vasquez and Stonebridge.

Let's get 8 years back and remind of how bassline house sounded in the beginning and when everyone was excited about it. Think of times when it wasnt so easy to get such music, there were no mp3 bassline shops and the on and only way to get that kind of stuff was vinyls. These days have gone forever, bassline evoluted into something different.
'Bassline House Classics' its everymonth mixes series taking us back to those days. You will find organs with bit of warpers, uforgettable vocals and bumpy catchy melodies - it was exactly what we wanted and needed.
