I  reread this book a bunch looking for stuff I could include in this song. I could go on a long rant about that process but nobody wants that.  I love the ending where the guy betrays his lover and then they have to look each other in the eye at the weird doomed café. It is such a mood.

I took this picture when I had a background role as a cheerleader on a tv show. We didn't do any tricks, just yells and kicks. It was weirdly fun to cheer for nothing. The outfits were actually really comfortable.

NOTE: Wrote this song for funski's after attending one too many tech networking events. It's rough but I like it for the AIEIO line because it expresses my annoyance at AI in a creative context. 

Once upon a time some scientists recorded the call of an endling, the last bird of his species. They played the recording and the bird sang along, mistaking the song for the call of another.  It was a cruel trick to play on a bird, who must be long dead by now. 

It summarizes my thoughts on AI art. It adds noise that drowns out the art of humanity. And if it's good it's still bad. Imagine a song, something that speaks to you. For one moment, you feel less alone, touched by the knowledge that somewhere, someone, must have felt the same. 

But it's a lie. A machine's Frankensteinian output, stitched from the work of others. Algorithmically regurgitated into existence. 

Now you're just like that poor bird, fooled by a song, more alone than before.

Obrien is the dude from 1984 and I just thought it was funny to rhyme Obrien with crying (pronounced weirdly). 1984's versificator was a great prediction.

NOTES: 
- I was loitering in the coffee shop of a haunted hotel I can't afford when a kindly barista offered me unlimited refills as a kind of compensation for relegating me to the booths. So I drank somewhere around seven cups of strong coffee in short succession while re-reading the same poems over and over. 

Hours later, I was standing on a corner, sketching a building with shaking hands when I heard a familiar voice. In a city of millions it's possible to run into the one person you really shouldn't see. To be fair, I caused most of the problems the previous week, this song is a biased perspective of a caffeinated catastrophe.  

Anyway, the moral of the story is I'm actually the coward but music is for lying.
