Stars Apart: Album of the Year || "Honest" : Pop Vocal Performance & Song of the Year

Hello, friends and fellow Recording Academy members! 

I'm pleased to announce these, my entries to the Recording Academy in consideration for the 59th annual Grammy Awards. I'm incredibly proud of the work I've done on this, my 5th recording project as a solo artist, and hope you will enjoy the entire project. This is my first time submitting for the Grammy Awards and I do so, in large part, because of the support and encouragement I have received from from many of you, including Grammy nominees and winners! Thank you so very much for your kind words and thoughtful consideration. 

My songwriting focuses on themes of love, truth and compassion. The song "Honest" is a reflection on finding my own truth, having gone from someone who hides behind words to someone who says what they mean and means what they say, and on letting go of those who do not support it. Stars Apart, in it's entirety, is about my journey in love, both romantic and unconditional. It's about learning to love myself and better love others and leaving behind that which no longer serves such a purpose.

Ever try to set a boundary with someone but keep getting sucked back into the same drama? 

They say or do something, and you’re right back in it. Or, you start the same pattern all over again with someone else. “One lesson learned on repeat.” 

I wrote “Shadows” while I was discovering the power of walking away. Not winning, not getting the last word, not being right or the other person being wrong, not getting an apology, or the other person getting whatever it is I think they deserve. 

Just me finally being done. The win is being free of the pattern.

Oh, Lord! I thought I was out this week. Too much going on and I haven't had time to listen to anyone! Apologies and I hope to do some make up listening this week. The prompt made me think of my Dad. Brand new track. Wrote it this morning after a long hike and an emotional moment. This is the first recording. I'm sure it will develop from here. May even change the chord structure around it so, maybe you'll enjoy following its progression.
