We look at his early work from the 70’s with classics ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Televised’ and ‘Home Is Where the Hatred Is’ right up to his latest album ‘I’m new here’ from last year and ending on the full 13 min live version of ‘The Bottle’.

A salute to Gil Scott-Heron

In light of the passing of the great luminary Gil Scott Heron, I have decided to give this one up to the world. 
This is my take on my favourite track from Gil's final album, I'm New Here( which is available to buy here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Here-Gil-Scott-Heron/dp/B002ZBT84G ) 
I made this rework as a companion to the original - which for me evoked classic blues, New Orleans flavours, voodoo and mortality. 
A few shady characters have this track on their hard drives already, and I've been playing it out to great acclaim.
