Rise And Fall aka Russian based DJ and producer Anton Vishniakov is back at Bonzai Progressive with another stomping progressive workout. 'Seize The Day' comes with two stunning remixes from two masters of their trade. The Original Mix sets off on a smooth deep progressive groove as a deep resonating bass is joined by a snappy kick and subtle percussion arrangement. Intensity within the sound builds with the addition of some brilliant risers and quality FX. The track breaks down into a surreal display of pads and basses that really captivate your mind and take you on a hypnotic journey.

 A wonderful trek into the darker side of progressive house and most definitely not to be missed. Airwave is first up on the remix and we are in for a real treat as always. This guy has been at the top of his game for quite a while and he continues to deliver the goods. The workload he takes on is hugely impressive and the results outstanding. He relentlessly strives for the best out of himself and he always manages to surprise. Currently working on new material and collaborating we remain excited to see what he comes up with next.

 Here he takes the remix down the breaks path with a beautifully arranged progressive cut. Huge soundscapes are formed out of an array of synths and pads to the backdrop of a solid break beat groove. An intricate web of melodies are there to be discovered which gives the track a truly unique flavour. Lots to look out for hear and will no doubt have you back listening again and again. Another master of progressive vibes is up next on remix duty. 

Moshic delivers his remix in style as always. His last Bonzai outing came in the form of 'Do It To Me Now' which saw much attention on the circuit for its quality and the diverse range of remixes available. Always great to see this guys works hit the office and we hope to see lots more in the future. The remix intros with cool distant sounding kick and percussion combi, this soon dissipates and becomes a powerful, thumping kick with crisp and sharp hats. 

The bassline is the dominant force here as it etches out a fantastic groove that will have those dancing feet moving in no time. There is a darker element rolling through this sound and it remains in just the right spot throughout allowing the main track the space to evolve. As the track progresses you suddenly realise you've become totally immersed with its hypnotic qualities, even on the break, as the percussive elements take over you are still locked right into the groove. A monster of a tune that is not to be missed!

For two years running, Polish talent Mizar B has made unforgettable contributions to our annual "Only Silk" compilation series. On this year's "Only Silk 04," Max Flyant featured Mizar B's triumphant "Behind That Door" near the end of his continuous mix, to climactic effect. For our latest single, we are thrilled to share a full-length version of Mizar B's original mix, alongside brand new interpretations by celebrated Silk veterans Aeron Aether and Blugazer.

The original version centers on a deep, yet buoyant rhythm section, hypnotic arp line, and lush, after-hours soundscape. A variety of mellifluous themes begin to seep into the mix, including a gorgeous piano theme, and, just as memorable, a gorgeous vocal hook. In the main breakdown, the blissful piano and vocals take center stage, paving the way for a groovy and emotive drop.

American veteran Blugazer offers a dreamlike interpretation, which descends into even deeper terrain than the original. Gorgeous, brain-tickling atmospheric effects permeate his sonic canvas, while subtly hypnotic variations on the original melodies carry the midrange of his composition. After a short respite in the main break, the gentle crescendo of the many atmospheric layers continues onward, allowing the song's soothing arrangement to completely envelop the listener.

Beloved Hungarian veteran Aeron Aether, who remains our label's director of audio mastering, makes his first artistic appearance on our imprint in years; needless to say, we are overjoyed to welcome him back. His remix fittingly is in the niche of progressive breaks, a genre to which he has contributed enormously (since 2008) and has truly helped to define. In the early going, the adrenalin-fueled bassline and beats pack a tremendous punch; at the quarter turn, Aether's (signature) symphony of emotive atmospheric effects make a cinematic entrance. An unconventional, yet exhilarating lead synth cuts through the mix soon thereafter. In the latter half of the composition, these awe-inspiring elements unite, creating a soundscape that is both haunting and rapturous.

Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave aka many many other guises was born in Brussels in 1977, he is a naturally gifted artist and this manifested in him at the age of just 7.

Influenced by the 80’s and 90’s sounds and by greats such as Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Orbital, Oliver Lieb and BT, he honed his skills in music knowledge and technology.

Laurent would then see demos picked up by the infamous Bonzai imprint in 1996 and the stunning Airwave - I want To Believe was released. In 1998 this was picked up by many top DJ’s including Sasha and Oakenfold and later on by an up and coming DJ, Tiesto. 

Airwaves sound was and still is prominent in the UK and Dutch trance scene and this has helped a host of today’s top DJ’s be where they are now. His infectious music spread further in 1999 to Germany, Italy and the world and now Airwave is a very popular name on the EDM scene with a huge, loyal fanbase.

Versatility and great skill in the studio led to many collaborations including with his friend Jurgen Leyers with Fire & Ice and E.N.E.R.G.Y., Georges Petkidis on Planisphere and Marnik Braeckevelt with Antidote. The list continues with many other greats including Yves Deruyter, M.I.K.E., Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Tale, Marcus Schulz and John 00 Fleming, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Breaking boundaries and turning his hand to many genres of music Laurent has as many as 500+ productions and remixes under his belt. Laurent then started to develop his DJing and live performances and has played in some big venues, Slinky, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, The Gallery, 1015, Dopler in Bratislava, and many others back in the day.

In 2000 he embarked on a new wave of performance with gigs all over the world in England, Scotland, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Canada, Netherlands, Spain, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, South Africa, with totally improvised keyboards while DJing and the Triloset was born and continues to this day.

Fast approaching 20 years in the business, Laurent can never be pigeon-holed to one genre as his impressive list of albums will attest. His first album Believe in 2002 performed very well and this was to do well again in the 2004 album I Want To Believe. Trilogique soon followed and it is now that Laurent’s passion starts to come through in a big way. Released first in 2006 this album contains three parts, bringing the audience three different tastes of electronic music into one single package, Trilogique would go on to be a huge success reaffirming Laurent’s position in EDM. Many more albums followed and each have made their mark on the world.

Time saw him finally running Bonzai Records with his long time partners and friends, and also expanding his knowledge of acoustics in order to develop his career as a producer and as a sound designer among others.

Laurent runs a monthly radio show called Progrez where he showcases a wide range of music, this is followed religiously by his army of fans the world over. Music that is full of emotion, special and unique with expressed feelings, many have claimed it has changed their lives for the better. When there are discussions on greats of EDM the name Airwave/Laurent always crops up.

He has a deep respect among his peers for his beliefs on the industry and he speaks honestly about how he feels and where he sees his musical vision take him. 

One of the most gifted artists of our time and with a passion still very strong we are sure to see a lot more from this man.
