Odd Only finally returns back to their own imprint Joyfriend with a new record after their excursions on Empore and Musica Autonomica: "Carla" is the latest entry by the two and includes two originals and a remix by Schlepp Geist from Leipzig.

The title-giving piece of the record impresses with its sophisticated synthesizer harmonies on a mercilessly driving groove. Already part of Odd Only's live set for a while, “Carla” has undoubtedly been written for the cellars of the world and will provide for one or another special moment on the dance floor with its intriguing mood.

Intuition, on the other hand, with its ironic title, presents a challenge: Its lavish and extraordinary drum arrangement sits enthroned on a broken bass drum groove and represents a welcome break from the usual realms of the 4-to-the-floor-formula. It does not stray too far though and keeps its compatibility with classic house and techno numbers.

In the end, "Schlepp Geist" presents his own interpretation of the title track, enriching it in particular with a multitude of atmospheric drum events, which weave the main motif into an always surprising and impelling context.

The next EP is coming by a team up of some real powerhouses in the electronic music scene. Having a shared catalogue of releases on labels like Diynamic, Suara, Exploited, Parquet Recordings, Get Physical and Off Recordings should be more than proof of what these producers are capable of. Alexandros DJkevingr, Greg Ignatovich and Bruce Leroys defy the limitations of genres by mixing together progressive House and Tech House for the title track "Error 404”. The B-side “Berimbau” rounds up the EP nicely by adding some breakbeats to the whole. Finnish artist Movement Machina creates a deep Tech remix with a wonderful analogue touch.

What happens when a talented singer / songwriter discovers the ecstatic joy that lingers around the powerful pulse of a straight kickdrum? Damn good things, as we can hear on this EP. Between synthe-tic grooves, live guitar and vocal parts Andy's Echo soars to ever new heights. This trip shifts through various gears: ‘Running’ has a beautifully rough edge, ‘Wild Groove’ streams through our conscious-ness with casual funkiness. Andy's Echo can also become a very melodic, dreamy and therefore extre-mely catchy affair, as the German producer proves in the title Track ‘Thrill Me’. If this high-quality material eventually ends up in the hands of slo-mo hypnotists Herrhausen & Treindl... you guessed it: We're in for damn good things at the lower end of the BPM spectrum.

Stars are created by gravitational collapse of large molecular clumps. Once formed, they stay in the universe for millions of years – and outlive all human life. The artistic creation of @maxvonsternberg also is about outliving. With his driving and melodic sound he creates unheard soundscapes. Complemented by well placed lyric pieces, he underlines the the continuous change of our world and shows that nothing is forever. With his first EP, "Forgiveness", on @club-autonomica, he delivers four deep house pieces that cover the entire bandwidth – from bassy dance floor bangers to more quiet, melancholic sounds.

With its strong baselines and expressive hi-hats, the eponymous piece, "Forgiveness", is clearly made for the dance floor. It comes in two versions – one with lyrics and one as a dub version. "Falling Star", the first track of the vinyl’s B-side feels likely energetic. "New Day", on the contrary, gets the more quiet tones, occasionally leaves a melancholic impression and is by that also made for contexts beyond the club.
