Hot Creations hit us with another monster of a release this time from Tom Dinsdale (ex-Audio Bully’s) under his new project Mineo. Title track ‘Turn Out The Lights’ is an intoxicatingly deep groover with a dense low riding bassline, punchy warm chords and an infectious dark male vocal adding a real standout element for the dancefloor. Over on the B-side label head Jamie Jones is on remix duty to deliver one of his best, picking up the pace and turning it into a deep and powerful techy monster, twisted and dark, perfect for the later hours. On a more uplifting tip, the second track from Mineo ‘Off The Handle’ again carries that distinct UK sound. Bass heavy with perfect underlying swing the track twists and turns through different percussion patterns with captivating distorted vocals riding through the many layers.

Tom Dinsdale aka Mineo has been buried away in the studio for the past eighteen months working on music for his new solo project. Sending the tracks to Jamie Jones and Lee Foss as demos, they were soon snapped up and have become a staple part in both of their sets, smashing dancefloors worldwide from Ibiza to Burning Man festival.

Busier than ever with his hectic schedule, Jamie Jones has been touring as a solo artist but also along with Lee Foss, Ali Love and Luca C as their Hot Natured band, headlining their own events at the likes of Brixton Academy and festivals including Sonar and Glastonbury. Along with this Jamie has been running his Paradise night at DC10 in Ibiza for it’s second year with huge line ups featuring big names like Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice but also the new artists Jamie is pushing such as wAFF and Patrick Topping. Finding the time somehow, Jamie has also been hard at work in the studio producing music with the Hot Natured crew with a recent debut album release and also doing a number of remixes for his three record labels.

After dropping the hammer with Blunt Instruments killer Hold Back Ep,  Dungeon Meat are back again debuting on their own label with the brain mincing Lose Your Mind Ep . 

Both sides deliver big swings of their mighty axe and hit hard with their signature sound of meaty beats & beefy basslines . Aimed straight at the dance floor it's obvious both these tracks have the intention to crack some skulls and spill some brains . Already vigorously road tested by Tristan da Cunha and Brawther at their D.J gigs & their D.M live show  , the reactions have shown that both of these tracks hit the chest and do the damage. As usual though we won't bother describing them , breaking tracks down to each part and trying to use words where they usually fail …. instead we'll let the music do the talking. 

 Also included are two  "tools"  so the creative DJ's out there can get busy in the mix and give their sets a little meat injection. Again you vinyl lovers are treated to deluxe 180gram slab of the black stuff & embossed company sleeve dressed to impress with the trademark Dungeon Meat artwork .  VINYL ONLY

When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Next release on Tronic is a pack of some exclusive "Secret Weapons" and includes four massive tracks from the label's biggest gunners. First track comes from the mighty Italian duo Macromism, "Backstab" is a groovy beast with banging beats, haunting vocal samples and as the title gives away sick stabs to compliment the solidness of the track. Second track is from the Dutch-man Reinier Zonneveld and is a rolling-bass heavy track, tailor-made for peak time action, on top of that there is this sick melody that adds up to shine off production. Third track of the release comes from Rafa Barrios and Rob Hes, the duo has delivered an afro-like slab, dancy, rhythmic and dirty at the same time and to conclude track four of this release from Drunken Kong is the dark side of the release, hypnotic slab, using a heavy drum work, big boom sub bass and killer chords. All in all a stunning release. Highly recommended.

Transmit Recordings’ next highly anticipated release comes from who other than the label boss Boris, consisting of the original track and two remixed versions from the great Christian Smith and the Naples born Hollen. Boris original version of “Music Takes Me” is a peak time burner, heavy kicks, chaotic background atmospheres and a bass destined to shake any given dance floor. Christian’s remixed version is a groover, heavy playful bassline and percussive with a tribalistic touch and to conclude the big release Hollen’s remix is closer to the original, making great use of the background atmo’s and introducing a more subtle underground drum work to match his usual style. In 2013, Lauter Unfug started out as a small collective, hosting underground events in the small country of Luxembourg, which had somehow missed its opportunity to join the House and Techno movement around the world in the early 20s´ and the late 90s´.

Only two years later, they make their debut as a Music Label and already incline the support and the trust by many of the main players in the business.

Riven, one of the founding members of the collective drops LUM001, the very first release on the label. The “When Are You Hungry?” EP features 3 divergent tracks, each one individually shaped to it´s own essence.

The original mix perfectly reflects Riven’s style: Raw, driving and harmonic. He is a true addict of classic drum machines and aptly uses the sounds of the 909 and 707 to create a rhythmic thrust whilst leaving them almost unprocessed. The purity of the elements brings a nice old-school touch to the composition. To complete the piece, Riven draws on further organic elements by adding dry vocals and effects. The lead part is shaped by two different organs, which are generating the bass and the main melody of the track. By combining all of those elements, Riven manages to create a smooth drive that slowly evolves and finds it´s peak about halfway through the track.

For the first release on Lauter Unfug Music, Riven managed to come up with an arrangement that subtlety allows listeners the freedom to choose which elements between the bassline, the drums, atmospherics or overall mood they can focus on.

After releasing on Cadenza, Get Physical and Sintope, Rhadow joins the Lauter Unfug crew and adds his Remix on the Label. He focuses on the main vocals, whilst adding a smooth, rhythmic and uplifting groove on top. Toppling effects that move slowly around the spectrum conclude the composition. Rhadow manages once again to deliver a solid mix and makes the different elements of the track seamlessly melt together.

Mikalogic interprets the track in his own, very different manner by adding a bit more drama to the whole. As you might have expected, he uses long pad lines and short melodic stabs joined by huge reverb fills that build-up towards a nice breakdown and fall back to the original beat just after the drop.

The “When Are You Hungry?” EP is a diversified release that contains three well-

grooving tracks and it represents the dawn of a young, adept and onward music label.

LUM002: ND Catani – “BACKSTAGE” EP

ND Catani drops the second release on Lauter Unfug Music. His Track “Backstage” is a mixture between contemporary “Jackin´House” and the good old-school vibes found in classic house, so guess what you´ll hear; A thick bass line, mellow chords, saturated vocals and a propulsive drum beat that will get you going throughout the whole record.

The second track picks up the pace: Kellerkind delivers a solid, tom-driven addition to the label. He manages to maintain the “housy” vibe of the original piece by adding some classic stab sounds and 808 toms whilst offering a different approach to the genre and putting his focus on the percussions.

The third track on this EP follows a more melodic pattern. Hermanez nudges the heavy basses for some mellow pads grouped with leading arpeggiated strings. It´s the kind of tracks that slowly evolves to a soothing breakdown, has a lot of movement and takes you onto a little journey into elsewhere.

The “Backstage EP” is a well-balanced release that features three well-produced pieces covering different niches in the sphere of house music.
