what a magnificent EP, I love those two last ambiant tracks <3<3<3

After years of fruitful studio work and intense worldwide touring with his band Stavroz, Beazar now steps out of the shadow. On his newest EP Furry Tale the Belgian abandons the strict four to the floor backbone of his earlier work in pursuit of more freedom to express his dry and stern grooves laden with bittersweet tension. Inspired by Radiohead, Amon Tobin, Stimming, Apparat or Lorn, Beazar delivers his most delicate offering so far.

The EP’s title track “Furry Tale” is an earworm, reminiscing about the impulsive behaviour of a cat swinging from good-hearted flattery to a fierce temper in just the blink of an eye. Its anecdotal nature will most likely get it passed on from one generation to another, as an ancient history that carefully needs to be preserved. The song comes with an equally cinematographic video by the hand of choreographer/performer Işıl Bıçakçı. Hailing from Istanbul, her vision on contemporary dance has brought her and her pieces to celebrated festivals all over the world.

Needless to say, the EP marks a new and seasoned stage in Beazar’s creative path, clearly showing the wide range of atmospheres he manages to lay down. The opening track of the EP 'Amazinger" offers a cinematic universe where electronic & acoustic orchestras meet under the guidance of Beazar’s sorrowful trumpet, accompanied by a terrific animated video by Nele Fack.
Then there are the witty, hypnotising club vibes of “Mercurious”, where vocalist and friend Joppe Tanghe personifies the planet closest to the sun, including the wear and tear that comes with such a position. “The Third Half” hints at the discomfort whenever something is just insufficient, the extra time you wanted but never got, the half that can never be, but should have been. More existential pondering creeps in half way the EP and concludes in "The Slave Pilot", a touching and unrushed symphony led by a solo artist coming home in a house that he no longer recognises.

The years in the shadow were surely beneficial for Beazar. Like ivy, this is where he blossoms.

Moodfamily’s seventh instalment might just sound as lucky as the number predicts. Harted releases his 'Wander EP' and manages to define his sound from the get go. His debut fluently rolls through your neighbourhood with the windows down, turning heads as he passes by, sounding smooth yet bumpy and captivating at the same time. Although the EP sounds ahead of its time, Harted stays - somewhat - true to his history in the harder genres, yet with a firm look forward.
