What are the ways to ring in the New year? One way is to sleep through it by falling asleep in one year and waking up in the next. You can even go to sleep on a plane and wake up in an entirely different country altogether. Another option is to go to the village of Baarle - whose territory is divided into a patchwork of Belgian and Dutch territories with some shops and buildings straddling both countries - and welcome the new year in two countries at the same time. You can celebrate the beginning of the year not once, but, say, twice, first in the Swedish town of Karesuando and then in the Finnish village of Karesuvanto just across the bridge: while the two settlements are split by one and the same river, they are nonetheless stuck in different time zones. And last but not least, you can always spend the New Year’s Eve and the the New Year’s Day with your family at home, with your friends at a club, with strangers in a square, and all by yourself in a traffic jam. But all of that is of absolutely no account because no matter how many times and in how many locations you celebrate, you will then have to live the year with all the thoughts you secretly nourished in your head, all the plans you won’t manage to accomplish this year either, and all the dreams that will make the next 365 days better than the last. @madmotormiquel’s set is here to sum up all this. Laut & Luise releases carefully selected music on vinyl, individually touched and underlined by a special and characteristic artwork in order to give back at least some love.

Luise herself provides dance music, calm and dubby, still with a definite focus on house and techno.

Aside from the main label, our younger imprint Luettje Luise is meant to be a playground for sounds beyond genres and borders, trying to stay open-minded like daddy Ernst Jandl was.

What is the opposite of little? Lost. A new little sub by Laut & Luise, limited to nothing but a digital playback device and labeled with a mouse crafted artwork. Lost in Luise, for the digital natives and the internet explorers.
