Lyrically evocative and playful. Strong and subtly shifting melodic lines and phrases mix with rich instrumentation, textures and colours.
This music is poetic, but equally invites you to dance, move and engage.
Not heads down four to the floor moshing; this groove is syncopated and shifting, making you sway and turn to catch the off-beats!
The mini album. ‘Let’s Be Bees’ combines all these elements more concisely than ever and builds on previous recordings by the band.
Mixing the spookiness and psychedelic aspects of folk and blues with avant-garde rock, afro-beat and dance inspired rhythms and vocal harmonies.

Strong melodies, jazz harmonies and a potent sense of nostalgia are some of the words associated with the music of Last Summer’s Tealights. Part classical, part folk, part pop, part hymnal, the music is a peculiar hotchpotch of shared influences.

The idea for LST was conceived through a series of saxophone/marimba duets emerging during a winter spent in Scotland, which were eventually expanded under more southern skies.

LST brings together experienced players from a diverse range of musical backgrounds, including jazz, classical, flamenco and middle-eastern.
