The number 5 symbolizes movement, freedom, and risk. In this spirit, @LayllaDane – creator and host of the cult show for non-conformist electronic music Katz Motel on @off-beat-radio – brings her selection from the airwaves into the intimate setting of Ж Jazz Room.

Katz Motel unfolds into a series of five bold sonic experiences – each with a different guest, unpredictable and beyond expectation. Ranging from ambient and downtempo to avant-garde and unconventional electronica, all sets will be performed exclusively on vinyl, while the audiophile environment of Ж gives the sound full freedom to expand in detail, depth, and texture.

From celestial house to entrancing electro, Laylla Dane delivers a dose of eclectic grooves for the latest mix in the Junction 2 series.

Catching the eye of Zip back in 2014, Sofia-born, Berlin-based Laylla has steadily grown in stature to sit alongside Kink as Bulgaria’s ambassador for house and techno in Europe. Now frequently found at esteemed hideouts Club der Visionaere and Hoppetosse, Laylla’s signature stripped back sound has a long list of admirers and this 60 minute mix provides a brief glimpse as to why.

We fancy an occasional pinch of symbolism, so welcoming one of Bulgaria’s leading female artists this month is no coincidence at all.

Laylla Dane emerged from the blooming rave culture in the early 2000s, devoting herself to the dance floor and proving that dedication paves the path to recognition, no matter where you come from. Two decades later, fans and peers all across Europe respect her flawless mixing, well-crafted sets, and “quality over quantity” commitment.

As Laylla joins our podcast series, she not only aligns with our ethos but also unveils her most adventurous self. The mix begins as a bold observation of the melancholically peculiar corners of her collection. However, instead of digging further into the subconscious, she spares the troubled minds by throwing the listener to the floor and lifting the spirits naturally till the end as she finishes off with a dance.
