Cudi's lyrics describe mental issues such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, and existential worries; things we all experience from time to time. These lyrics mixed with the comforting chords and melodies of "Air on the G string" provide a gentle reminder that life has its up's and downs and everything will settle down eventually.

Unfortunately, the chorus of “The Prayer” musically strayed too far from “Air” and was removed from the remix. The lyrics of the Chorus for those interested are:
