One of the first people I met on this platform was the wonderful Societe Cantine. He listened with open ears and offered indepth thoughts on my music and sparked conversation and experimentation. He, himself a mind-blowing sound artist, has released a  string of albums over the last decade that still sing with originality and genre breaking optimism. We danced round the edges of collaboration for a longtime, adding little bits of sound to bigger projects or producing video. Just before COVID hit the world we finally met in Paris - I had so much talk about, as did he.. like children we struggled with face to face language; his english is good, my french is terrible : ) We decided that we should finally start collaborating in depth and this is the first piece - conceived and played with, back and forth during lockdown COVID times. Naturally enough we titled it Language Gap after our initial stumbling meeting. It got an honourary mention in the 2023 One Minute Radio Festival and through that has been played all over the world . Fardeau Losange (as he now known) and I are working now, very slowly on some sort of album - it will take forever, but its almost secondary to the friendship that has grown around the music we have listened to, written and shared on this platform.   https://societecantine.bandcamp.com/album/lopacit-des-interlignes

I sent music I titled "Ravine" to Paulo Chagas, who listened closely to it and responded with his alto sax. Our album explores this close listening in context of various mental landscapes, with this piece, being in a metaphoric ravine.

I just jammed on top of it with my accordina but it was too much of the three of us, so I split the stereo original, separated he_nu_ri,  mikey_a and myself on 3 tracks (softly panned like the original with mine at centre) and made some very creative use of the delete button, as Eno used to say.

That created some space that I then filled with huge reverbs. I’m afraid I didn’t really honoured the source track on this one, but it is done so I better share it.

I promise I was thinking on making this a bit Krautrock when I started, doesn’t sound like that now, I guess...

I just added a 808 kick and played bass. Most satisfying and less time consuming on the lot, but I don’t think it works, a 4th (soloist) part is needed IMHO.

I dunno, maybe it's springtime in sunny Paris, but I felt the urge for some old disco vibes.

I didn’t change the original tracks at all, I behaved this time.
I added a beat, for that 50 years old euro-disco vibe and then jammed on a lead synth that brought this to some sort of proto-disco-floyd.

Four on the floor man, you can’t go wrong…

It was fun.
