The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Supreme Low. "The World" ft. Barkosina comes off the forthcoming album by Supreme Low Meets Sensation titled 'Still III'. The record is a collaboration between Supreme Low (Jerome Tcherneyan of Years of Denial) and New York-based MC, Sensational, who has been pushing hip hop’s boundaries for over 30 years. Tcherneyan first saw Sensational in France in 1999 while meeting in New York in 2001. The two quickly connected and kept in touch throughout the years when they finally got the chance to record material together in London in 2016.

With beats created mainly using an SP1200 (a sampler associated with hip hop golden's age and raw Techno), Fuzz/Distortion pedals and dub units like Echoes/Spring Reverb, psychedelic modulations such as Chorus/Flanger/Phaser and a modular synth, Sensational’s rhymes were totally improvised on the spot in a 3 a.m. studio session under heavy influence. The result is a powerful fusion of sound and style that shatters all expectations and delivers an audio vehicle bridging past, present and future. We are thrilled to host this track today by Supreme Low featuring the other half of Years of Denial, Barkosina on vocals.

Reflection | Reaction is a trilogy of EP’s written by Plant43 over the course of winter 2022/23, the first in the series marking the 10th release and third anniversary for the artist’s Plant43 Recordings label. Over the course of twelve tracks and over an hour of new music Emile Facey takes the listener on an emotional journey through the frosty depths of winter and into the warm sunlight of spring. All three parts of the trilogy will be on different coloured limited edition vinyl (300).

Juno's Review : "Plant43 wrote a trio of EPs over the winter season at the end of 2022 and the start of 23 and has been putting them out on his own Plant43 Recordings label. This third part from the man born Emile Facey is another emotional rollercoaster that conveys the wintry scenes in which they were written while also taking you on to the more warm and optimistic light of spring. Lithe electro rhythms and icy synths open up on 'Tidal Flexing' while 'Reflective Waves' gets a little darker and more intense. 'System's Edge' is a celestial cruise with quick, slick drums and masterful leads then 'Mind Drift' channels Drexcyian cyborg funk to close. The final part of the story comes on coloured vinyl but only in limited quantities."

Cybotron has re-emerged in our contemporary cybercultural age when artifactual futures begin a transition into a new era of "Meta". 
 
By combining their knowledge of philosophy, science fiction, and mechanical engineering, at a time when electronic instrument companies were only just beginning to distribute their products to the masses, two prosumer audio technicians named Juan Atkins and Rik Davis were able to re-engineer Cybotron  &ndash;  a combination of the words "Cyborg" and "Cyclotron" (an atomic particle accelerator) &ndash; to be used as a home studio performance music that would change the course of independently produced and distributed electronic music.
 
Dissolving the boundary between singer, songwriter, and producer, Juan Atkins named Cybotron's future forward funkadelic sound "techno" in reference to Alvin Toffler's concept of unlikely "techno rebels" against technocracy. Techno is music that sounds like technology, and its purpose was to help society survive our collision with a universally felt "future shock" by inserting an audio virus into the cultural matrix. 
 
Techno's blueprint spread across the Detroit-Berlin Axis between Metroplex and Tresor. As human society began its transition from a post-industrial to an information-based market economy, Cybotron enabled a thorough system override of the human senses towards a tangible man-machine hybridity and showed the world how to channel their emotions and imaginations into new sound technologies and create new 'sonic' spatialities where listeners can transport themselves out of the physical world into the future. The cover of their debut album Enter (1983) transmitted a fragmented view of a body in motion being digitized mid-stride, dissolving physical and virtual reality into sonic fiction.
 
Today, the man-machine hybridity of Cybotron is still the truest form of techno, coevolving in conversation with the technological music they created and inspired. The latest data disk marks a new chapter that reflects a techgnostic musical expression of the knowledge acquired during their decades-long hiatus. Unlike the dance music industrial replications of the Model 500 formula, acknowledging the content marketing expectations that segments music into specific, sellable genres, this techno music is self-aware.
Cybotron processes dance music tropes spawned from its very own blueprint with a meta-tactical precision out of sync with our current rave new world. 

Cybotron's return demonstrates a studied engagement with what techno was and should be with a peerless update of Juan Atkins' initial inventive idea of do-it-yourself electrically reengineered music xeroxed onto both sides of the 12" &ndash; uploaded directly into the alleys of your mind.

Naya Beat, which translates from Hindi as 'new beat', is focused on uncovering foundational electronic sounds from the subcontinent and South Asian diaspora through reissues, remixes and compilations. It found quick success with its first release, 'Naya Beat Volume 1: South Asian Dance and Electronic Music 1983 - 1992', followed by a rare 1985 Hindi New Wave album by Pinky Ann Rihal. The label now offers up the first of two releases based around the music of cosmic disco pioneer, Studio 54 icon and jazz improviser Asha Puthli, an artist who has recorded, sung or shared the stage with the likes of Roy Ayers, Alice Coltrane, Grace Jones, Barry White, Andy Warhol and many more. From David Mancuso's The Loft, to Giorgio Moroder's early work with Donna Summer, to hip-hop where she has been sampled extensively, Asha's musical influence and impact is profound. She was the first artist of South Asian descent to successfully crossover and make a mark on dance, jazz and pop culture in the West. 

For this LP, the label tracked down the long mythologised original stems and recordings of Puthli's most seminal albums, including ‘The Devil is Loose’, and working closely with Asha, they have tasked a series of producers inspired by her work to remix her music. 

Yuksek opens up with a pumping disco remix of 'I Am Song (Sing Me)' awash with uplifting synths and big claps next to the original vocals, which soar to the heavens. The seminal 'Space Talk' is remixed by Maurice Fulton into super steamy and late-night territory. The live drums and jumbled percussion are lit up with soulful chords as Puthli's carefully delivered vocal seduces up top. 'Lies' (Kraak & Smaak Remix) rides on fat-bottomed drums and bass that unfold with a dub swagger beneath a nebulous eco-system of cosmic synths and dramatic vocals. Label heads Turbotito & Ragz flip 'One Night Affair' into a leggy disco celebration with sweeping synths and bright effects, and Psychemagik's 'Right Down Here' is a pulsating mix of dark, snaking bass and drums with deep space ambience and raw hits making for a turbulent and tense atmosphere. Lastly, Jitwam closes out with a smooth disco sound laced with dynamic drums and cruising chords next to another sensuous top line from Asha Puthli. 

This is a stunning collection of remixes that pay homage to the originals while taking them into new sonic territory. A series of single drops will precede the whole LP; Yuksek (21st July), Maurice Fulton (4th August), Turbotito & Ragz (18th August), Psychemagik (1st September), Kraak & Smaak (15th September), Jitwam + LP (21st September).

Amsterdam’s Sinchi Music returns with its 10th release, this time from German duo Le Jeune Flück and featuring remixes from Moscoman, Theus Mago and themselves.
Sinchi Music launched their label back in early 2019 off the back of their popular blog, events and DJ sets. The imprint’s mission has been to release quality left of centre electronic music, with all funds going to a non-profit foundation to support indigenous peoples’ right and preservation of culture. To date the label has seen music from
the likes of Sascha Funke, Khidja, Man Power, Curses, Tolouse, Low Trax and many more and has gained a solid following, whilst doing some genuine good for the world.
Frankfurt based pair Le Jeune Flück are the latest to join the ranks of Sinchi’s artists. The duo have been collaborating together since 2013 and have recent release on Dionysian Mysteries and clipp.art. Here they offer up the superb ‘Unexpected Ends’, a rolling arpeggiated affair that comes on like the love child of Giorgio Moroder and Underworld. Incandescent synths and ethereal drifting melodies provide the perfect soundbed for the distinct half sung / half spoken vocals creating a track that is hard not to love.
The first of the remixes comes from Israeli producer, Disco Halal label boss and general don, Moscoman. His remix journeys into glitchier electro territory with a real sense of wonkiness and some seriously driving percussion. Next up, Sinchi deliver their own mix that taps into the otherworldly with its cavernous FX, and off kilter electronic vibe. Finally Mexican artist and Duro co-founder Theus Mago takes things into a chuggier realm with a cosmic mid-tempo workout that is divine, a perfect closer to an outstanding package.
