Lazy Tale - Far From Lazy (Podcast #4)

Brought up on by the greats of soul music, such as Teddy Pendergrass, Loose Ends, The Chi-Lites, McFadden & Whitehead, Barry White, Thelma Houston, The Jones girls and the temptations.

DJ Pete Hostetler was first well known for his dancing skills as that took him around the south of England, and after a long spell of spinning around on his head he decided to entertain clubbers a different way, which started off helping with DJ setting up and playing the odd tune.  

The musical heritage rests firmly on the shoulders of soul funk and disco.  In 1987 and at just 19 years of age he landed his first regular DJ gig at a local nightclub - ‘Oceans’ after standing in for a broken down DJ and soon afterwards was a regular face in some of the Saturday night parties.  News of his success soon got around, and it wasn't long before he was approached by nearby nightclub managers who offered him weekly slots and guest appearances.  

Evolving from the more soulful parts of disco, garage music with its soaring vocals and jazzy instrumentals, captured the ears for him.  From the start there has always been a little bit of soul.... then he branched out into the commercial side of dance music that still contained soulful influences from the likes of:- Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, Eric Morillo, Todd Terry and Danny Tenaglia, Terry Hunter, Leroy Burgess, Dennis Ferrer, MK, Copyright, Bimbo Jones and Cahill

Information LAZY TALE: In the year 2007, Lazy Tale decided to lay hands on the turntables and not to stay next to it only as a listener. At first, it was only a pastime for home, but soon the interest grew to record own CD's and see how people celebrate with him. It was followed by the first private parties. Lazy Tale limited to play with vinyl and turntables, but as he could inspect the master Richie Hawtin at the Time Warp in Mannheim and the Loveparade in Dortmund, he decided to go the "digital" way. With two controllers, and his unique flair for music, he thrilled the crowd with a mix of groovy, but always driving House and Techno. Meanwhile, he has bookings for the south of Baden and Basel and started to produce his own music.
It will be interesting, with which ideas Lazy Tale will surprise people in the future...
