Note:
This concerto is the first significant work composed having moved to Italy.  There is a new found peace in this work, even if the second movement is intentionally exciting.  However, the music's harmonies are more open and purposefully beautiful.  The work, cast in three movements, has no programmatic intent, but there is a clear musical journey, based on a mix of dialogue between soloist and orchestra, where ideas bounce back and forth, and where independence of spirit is always evident, even if the two characters (so to speak) are good companions.  The work is dedicated to my wife, Giuliana.
