We are thrilled to present Explorations EP by artúszero, the latest release on Fresh Beats Records, LSEM’s official record label in London. As our eighth catalogue entry (FRBR008), this release highlights the intricate sound design and deeply conceptual approach of the Barcelona-born, London-honed producer.

artúszero’s music exists in a phase-shifting space—between past and future, digital and analogue nostalgia and uncertainty. With Explorations EP, he channels his sonic experimentation into a more traditional electronic framework, merging classic textures with his distinct, evocative style.

The journey begins with "Kept Asking Me About A Girl," a dark, minimal-leaning cut that hovers on the fringes of shadowy club music. Rooted in sample-driven production, the track constructs a hypnotic atmosphere, blending haunting loops with an understated yet commanding groove.

Next, "Call My Name" unfolds as a personal statement, embodying the essence of artúszero’s sonic identity. A break-driven rhythm, interwoven with spoken-word and sung vocal fragments, places the listener in a distinct, almost cinematic moment—a fleeting memory suspended in time.

"Asking Broken Questions" takes the EP deeper into club-orientated terrain. Crafted with classic electronic techniques, the track captures the unease of fading recollections, translating them into expansive, immersive soundscapes that pulse with emotion and depth.

Closing out the release, Lake Lerge’s remix of "Kept Asking Me About A Girl" flips the original into an electro-breakbeat hybrid, amplifying its raw energy with filthy, rolling rhythms and atmospheric tension.

This EP is yet another testament to the innovation fostered through our Advanced Music Production Course. With Explorations EP, artúszero solidifies his signature sound—where memories distort, sounds collide, and the past bleeds into the future.

Ranacat is a DJ, music producer and club night promoter based in London.

Hailing from Rosario, Argentina, Pablo Ranacat made the move to London over 10 years ago. Not only trading the latin spirit for the English hustle and bustle, but also making a transition from his early experimental days in a band - playing fusions of Hip-Hop, Rock and more - to his found love of House Music.

His musical taste is eclectic, and his background in combination with his fine taste make his sets a great mix of positive energy and deep underground disco house.

He’s been working on his music productions, spreading his signature twists and musical turns blending Deep House and Nu-Disco, some of which will be seeing the sun for the first time very soon on great labels like the classic Mobilee and the young but already successful Holic Trax.

Known for a sense of adventure in his musical exploration, he’s now kicking off a new record label. ‘Sneaky Records’ will be focusing on UK Deep House and are already lining up releases from Sonogama and Silk 86 on the second half of 2013.

After many years involved in promoting club nights in London, he started his residency with Select*Elect, which has taken him to perform not just across Europe, but also alongside some of the scene's most revered such as Jimpster, Frivolous, Ali Schwarz, Ripperton, Jeremy Caulfield, Argy, Dario Zenker, Catz 'N Dogz, HOSH and Burnski.

Appearances at well established London club nights such us WetYourSelf!, Holic, Toi Toi, Exstatic Sounds, and in venues like Fabric, Ministry of Sound, Plastic People, T-Bar, Club 54, East Village, and in other European cities, Prince Charles in Berlin, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Hiroshima Mon Amour in Torino, among others.

Posting and reposting student tracks produced during our music production webcam courses and released on our label Fresh Beats Records, as well as DJ mixes completed during our DJ courses.
