A cover i've wanted to do since around 2008. I didn't realize until i was done that my favorite part of the song (the high pitched feed back/static) can't be duplicated with acoustic instruments. But I'm posting it anyways...why? Because I don't like throwing things away.

This is another entry into my "i'm too lazy to write new songs so I keep reworking old ones you guys haven't heard yet" series. This one was (along with "darcy hates me") written for my first band (a screeching weasel type rip off). However, i totally rewrote the lyrics, only keeping the melody and song structure the same. Enjoy my half assed efforts.

I've wanted to record this since roughly 2009. When that movie pitch perfect came out I decided not to because of the cheesy pseudo-cover of it in the film performed by anna kendrick. Anyways, a few years have gone by and I hope that the whole "cups song" thing has passed by enough that i can post this without it tainting their view of the song, since (as noted) it's an old folk song by the carter family called "you're gonna miss me when i'm gone" (not to be confused with their song "will you miss me when i'm gone?").
Despite all this, i've tagged the film and cups song anyways, because i'm a shameless fame whore.
