Coming from the Barrett Road palace we have the seasonal park up specialist Doober! If you are ever looking for the man you will find him vape in hand parked up in the lounge 80% of the time. The other 20% he will be surfing absolute barrels, he been known to slay tubes, some would call him a tube pig. Surfing has always been his passion and now he has ventured into something less weather dependent which is playing filthy minimal tunes. When he does play though he somewhat creates a storm above him which changes the weather pattern within the region. Doober has been working on this mix for roughly 3 months which is the direct reasoning for this stormy weather. Now he has finished the local population can rejoice alas the sunny weather will now begin.

These Toronto-based musicians need absolutely no introduction, but have been all over the shop in recent times; from Rampage and Liquicity on the festival circuit to countless clubnights and gigs across both sides of the Atlantic. 

This month's release is a piece of music we've been waiting to put out for a long time, having unveiled it in our Hospital Podcast in mid 2024 (ouch, we've been holding this one a while..)

Charter balances a club-focused instrumental against Ana's introspective lyrics, giving us a beautifully indulgent piece fit for headphones and the dancefloor. 

Working with Tyr and Ana has been a dream come true to ourselves, between them having released on every high profile label you could name off the top of your head and having released music we adore spanning back years.

Pure Space presents the debut EP from Naarm-via-Boorloo artist CHEAHDX (Darren Cheah), co-founder of Step Count & Serendipity, and a familiar force across Australia’s underground. Known for his genre-fluid DJ sets, CHEAHDX distills a decade of dancefloor energy into four cuts built for the system.

Opening track ‘Earthbound’ sets the tone with heady momentum, bass-fuelled pressure driving straight into hybrid genre territory, a hefty bass workout to kick things off.

‘Li-Ion’ keeps the pace high, a minimal trance cut sharpened with break-driven percussion and razor-edged sampling. The track levitates, then lets loose, landing squarely on the floor with peak-time energy.

Pulling back the tempo, ‘Monte De Pedra’ drops into subterranean mode, a low-slung bass workout, equal parts wobble and restraint. It’s dance music for lean-back hours, stretching tension through its sub-heavy architecture.

Closing with the title track, ‘Visage’ blends dreamy pads and whirling horns with expertly sculpted subs, a hybrid closer that ties the EP together in a haze of depth and motion.

CHEAHDX’s debut EP on Pure Space marks a producer fully in command of his craft. With roots in bass, breaks, and leftfield electronics (and years clocked on the dancefloor), Visage lands with steeze, weight, and intent.

Pure Space Recordings is the label venture from the beloved radio show hosted by Andy Garvey which broadcast weekly on Sydney’s FBi Radio between 2016 and 2023. The label that was established in 2019 focuses on Australian music both for home listening and that made for the club.
