As a Northwest native, Janie Henderson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education, with honors, at Western Oregon University. As a songwriter, she is a true romantic at heart. With a lifelong passion for Broadway musicals, classic Hollywood and vintage music in general, her favorite songwriting genre is 1940's, 50's and 60's jazz. Janie's musical influences include Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Sammy Cahn, Joao Gilberto and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Her friends and family tease her, because she often needs to excuse herself in order to record an original lyrical hook or a melody playing in her head. 

For the past twelve years, Janie has been collaborating with Nashville native musician, Gary Lowry, who earned two performance degrees with honors, a Bachelor of Music degree from Belmont University and a Master of Music degree from Western Kentucky University. He minored in musical theory, composition and arranging.  His major musical influences include the likes of Segovia and Chet Atkins.  His eclectic style of guitar playing is representative of many genres. Presently, Gary is an active studio musician, arranger and songwriter.

Janie and Gary write a variety of music genres including jazz, country, pop, Christian and dance.  They wrote "Heroes", a country/pop ballad, for the children's book, "Andy and the Albino Horse", by Mary Jean Kelso.  In February of 2007, their jazz song, "In Case You Change Your Mind", was a finalist in the songwriting contest, "Song of the Year".  "Loveliest", a 1960's bossa nova song, appeared in the NBC television show, "Aquarius", (2015 Critics' Choice Television Award for "Most Exciting New Series"), season 2, episode 3, in June, 2016.  "Loveliest (vocal mix)" was featured in the 2019 original Netflix movie, "The Last Summer".            














Janie and Gary agree they are an amazing songwriting team.  Janie quotes, "We are both so passionate about our musical ideas.  Sometimes we argue over our strong willed opinions, but most of the time we have a blast!  In the end, we create magic with our music."
