“Hey Holden Caulfield” is a takedown of the mass shooter phenomenon as something petty, performative, and pathetically derivative. With biting vocals and razor-edged lyrics, the band exposes how these self-absorbed, supremely entitled men like to cosplay as fictional antiheroes to give cover to their shameful actions. The song denies them power, glory, or fear. No myth, no martyrdom—just ridicule.
