Låt mig få presentera ett stycke ravehistoria i min Rave Classics-serie. Här blir det en riktig nostalgitripp med gamla techno-låtar från 90-talets början! 🤟

Den förra Hardtrance-mixen innehöll låtar merpart från 90-talets mitt. Nu skruvar vi tillbaka tiden några år till och befinner oss i 90-talets inledande år.
Själv var jag en ung grabb när jag fick höra L.A. Styles "James Brown is dead" första gången på radio.
Den här mixen är väldigt givande att få dela med sig eftersom den tidiga techno-musiken är den som fångat och format mitt intresse för de elektroniska musikgenrerna. 
Så givetvis ska L.A Style få inleda, och följs sedan upp av låtar från bl.a Interactive, U96, Egma, Fazer och Human Resource 🎶 

På Soundcloud har jag gett varje låt en Discogs-länk till releasen på vinyl, förutom Ecstasy Historys version av Misterias "Who Killed JFK". Den kom bara på en CD-samling.

Lyssna lite extra på Techno Trash "Noise!!" av Ramon Zenker (medlem i bl.a Hardfloor). Det är en låt som inspirerat en ung DJ Paul Elstak, för det syntljudet var ständigt återkommande i hans Nightmare-releaser.

Coverbilden med snubben kanske ni känner igen från vilket band han var medlem i? De slog igenom i samma tidsepok.

Since 2021, she's been one of the After O Clock residents at Glazart (Paris).

Hakkon was born in La Rioja (Spain) in August 1991. Since his childhood he was marked by his love of electronics and always wanted to become a DJ.

In 2010 he started his passionate career of being a great professional in the electronic scene; In 2013 he started in discos. Thanks to hard and continuous work, a unique and varied musical repertoire has been created in his sessions, which are built with great intelligence and meticulousness, transporting the listener on a tireless journey of dark and forceful techno that result in a dynamic combination to 2 and 3 decks of a plurality of a style such as Techno.

Among his musical bases, his admiration for artists such as: Ben Sims, Truncate, Mark Broom, Robert Hood, Cristian Varela, Jeff Mills, Surgeon, Oscar Mulero, James Ruskin, in short, old guard, stands out.

Since 2022 until today he participates in a collective called PlusOne as a resident, sharing with leading artists from the world techno scene such as: Kessell, Oxygeno, Aleja Sanchez, Gotshell, Kwartz, Kevin Villa, Pfirter, Derout, Bas Mooy, Joaquin Ruiz, Roll Dann, Black Lotus, Asec, Pushmann, Luis Flores, Antonio de Angelis, Norbak, Ricardo Garduno and Lindsey Herbert, Jeroen Search and Conceptual, Wata Igarashi, Shifted, Sons Oh Hidden, Vci,Julieta Kopp, Kerrie, Montero, Takaaki Itoh and Border One.

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @fresk0 for its 102nd episode of Amplify Series.

Fresko is an entity which has appeared and disappeared a hundred times for long periods of undefined time, throwing back into war times. The sound might be placed above dark, aggressive backgrounds (scenarios) - although mostly in a not-so-proper way, given the clear conscience of the contrast between what's grotesque and what is deep. It contributes to the rave culture and sound by allowing several virgin connections between body and memory; systems which are already archetypes are meaningful to its progression, always attending to its own evident route for whatever 'exotic' may stand for - never the less, experimenting at all times, relying above all in its individual diverse languages and symbols. Currently based in Lisbon.

Fresko delivers a hypnotic set with strong UK influences in this latest mix.  With a focus on groove-driven beats and subtle, evolving tension, Fresko showcases his ability to create an immersive experience that draws listeners into a hypnotic flow.

Yousuke Yukimatsu was born in Osaka in 1979 and started DJing in 2008. He got his first big break in 2014 when he played with DJ Nobu and NHK'Koyxen. From then, Yukimatsu soon had the chance to play at Future Terror and Dommune, as well as supporting many of the most interesting names coming through Osaka, such as Cut Hands, Adam, Marcel Fengler, Oneohtrix Point Never as well as playing at the PAN records showcase. In 2016 Yukimatsu started his own party called “Zone Unknown”, which has invited people like Shapednoise and Imaginary Forces. He also helped in the compilation of tracks for YPY’s album, Zurhyrethm, on EM Records, and has released a mix CD entitled ‘Lazy Rouse’ through Black Smoker records.
 
2008年 大阪atmosphäreでのSPINNUTSとMITSUKI主催『KUHIO PANIC』に飛び入り参加して以降DJとして活動。 THE NAMINOHANA SPECIALでのKEIHIN、DJ NOBUとの共演から親交を深め、2014年春、千葉FUTURE TERRORでプレイ。 2015年は2度のDOMMUNE出演、goatのサポートを数多く務め、PAN showcaseではLEE GAMBLEとB2B。Oneohtrix Point Neverの前座を務めるなど、活動の場を拡げる。 2016年2月、SHAPEDNOISEをゲストに迎えてPARTY『ZONE UNKNOWN』始動。 5月、BLACK SMOKERよりMIX CD『LAZY ROUSE』をリリース。

Electronic Explorations – Japan special
 
Japan has long played a fundamental role in electronic music, from being the home of many of its defining instruments to the early contributions of artists such as YMO, then Fumiya Tanaka, Keni Ishii and DJ Krush, amongst others. In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in the country as another generation of artists has come to the fore, with artists like DJ Nobu, Ena, Ryo Murakami and Goth-Trad gaining international recognition. 

Electronic Explorations has recently featured mixes previously from Japanese producers such as Wata Igarashi and Katsunori Sawa. But geography and language barriers mean that some of the country’s talent is not seen. So for this series we wanted to put the spotlight on the next wave of artists in Japan. All are primarily DJs and at different stages of their respective careers, but each has a distinct and interesting take on electronic music.

"a journey inspired by early African electronic music and modern beats" 

Drumphilia volume 1 is a rhythmic experiment that sits on the fault line between traditional instrumentation and analogue electronics. 
The project is a response to many years spent working with, learning about and listening to African and Caribbean percussion. Traditional rhythmic influences are combined with analogue drum machines and drum synths to create a hybrid sound that continues in the tradition of artists like Frances Bebey. 
There are no traditional harmonic instruments on the recordings - the aim was to create melody and texture using only carefully tuned percussion instruments, whether organic or electronic. Basslines were created by blending drum synth tones with the acoustic marimbula, a traditional Caribbean instrument that was often used in place of a bass guitar. 
Melodies were created with everything from log drums and thumb pianos to early Soviet drum modules and the trailblazing Pearl Syncussion SY-1. 
Various time signatures and textures are used across the album to produce melody out of rhythm - hypnotic, evolving tracks that celebrate and highlight the importance of rhythm in modern music.

All the sessions were recorded at the Mop Mop studio in Berlin between September and December, 2016. Instruments featured include 
log drum, marimbula, kalimba, sansula, krabebs. Pearl Syncussion SY-1, Vermona DRM1, MFB Tanzbär, MFB Tanzmaus RMIF Elsita, assorted drum machines and talkboxes.
