Ten Means By Which One Can Reflect & Ponder Over The Quran By Uways At Taweel

22/01/2022] Prophetic Morals - Guidance for the Muslim Woman (Narrations of Joking With Children, Having good Manners and the Forbiddance of Rude Behaviour) - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāhid حفظه الله.

Some of the points discussed in this lesson:[Lesson 07]

- Chapter: Joking with a Child and Its Permissibility - Ḥadīth #269.
- The permissibility of joking in a manner that is free from sins and lies.
- The recommendation to take a kunyā, even if you do not have children.
- The reason ‘Ā’ishah (رضى الله عنها) took the kunyā Umm ‘Abdillāh.
- The permissibility of keeping a pet.
- The only two cases it is permissible to own a dog, and a warning against resembling the kuffār.
- Chapter: Good Character - Ḥadīth #270.
- The character of the Prophet ﷺ and an encouragement for every Muslim to emulate the fine character and noble manners he came with.
- A beautiful du’ā’ that should be memorised:

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَاهْدِنِي لأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاَقِ لاَ يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

“O Allāh, You are the King. There is no deity worthy of worship but You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and acknowledged my sins, so forgive all of my sins. Verily, none forgives sins but You. Guide me to the best of character, for none guides to it but You.”
[Sahīh Muslim: 771, From the ḥadīth of 'Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib رضي الله عنه].

- The many ways in which good character can be achieved.
- Ḥadīth #271.
- An encouragement to have fine character and a warning against coarse behaviour and being foul-mouthed.

It is important for every Muslim to concern himself with the Quran. 
However in the month of Ramadhaan it would be even better and it is even more important to recite it. 
Allah revealed the Quran in the month of Ramadhaan and the messenger of Allah would strive hard to recite the Quran and perform righteous actions.
The Prophet  (صلى الله عليه وسلم) recited the Quran with Jibril in this month. So we know it carries great virtue - and the Muslim should give it its time.
