here’s something a little different

i’ve been writing minimalist-ish piano songs for the past decade, with no direction or project in mind. at some point between recording and releasing our first record it became clear to me that i had most of a solo piano album already written. it would just require some time and some focus to see that idea become a reality.

today i’m happy to share ‘fortune’, from the upcoming album ‘leave yourself alone II’, coming soon.

in a way, the follow-up is the natural antithesis of our first album, being so simple, and small, but i also think it carries along some of the same sentiments and feelings, only without words (and/or guitar solos) to pin those feelings down in space and time. maybe some of that will come across to you, or maybe it’ll sound totally unlike its predecessor. either way i hope it’s enjoyed.

‘fortune’ might be the simplest song on the album, so it felt right to share this one first.
