Sometimes you go into a new project thinking you're doing the right thing and going in the right direction, and then one fine day the director (in this case an animator) tells you that your work doesn't meet his expectations. Regardless, I had a great time and gained a lot of knowledge about the world of animation through this experience. The process was indeed very enjoyable. It was as if I suddenly gave my inner child the freedom it needed.

The play titled “Слуга двух господ: RUSSIAN EDITION” (“The Servant of Two Masters: Russian Edition”) was directed by Russian director Yuriy Muravitskiy at the Pushkin Drama Theatre in Moscow. It premiered on April 2, 2022.

In this version, Muravitskiy reimagines Carlo Goldoni’s classic comedy through the lens of Russian theatrical culture, drawing inspiration from popular Russian theater and the traditions of Russian jesters. The staging features close interaction with the audience, turning spectators into active participants. Although the actors follow a written script, they improvise and perform using specific “masks” for each scene, enhancing the play’s lively and spontaneous atmosphere.

One of the greatest privileges of working in Russia is the chance to explore the Russian classical repertoire. Since then, Gogol’s The Government Inspector has become one of my favorite plays. Yury was invited by the Teatr Dramatyczny in Warsaw to direct this production, proposing a fresh take through the lens of classic horror—a concept for which I found rich inspiration in Polanski’s The Fearless Vampire Killers. I have wonderful memories of this production; we stayed right in the theater, and on show nights, would drift through the backstage corridors in our dressing gowns.

Louis Lebee is a franco-english multi instrumentalist composer and music teacher who spent the last decade across europe scoring for theater, musicals and movies. In the last years he colaborated a lot with prestigious russian directors such as Maxim Didenko and Yuri Muravisky.  Many of the projects he has worked on have won awards.



Louis Lebee's atypical background as a former linguistics student at the Sorbonne added to his passion for jazz, classical music and his talent as an arranger (forged over the years in the ultra-competitive Parisian world of advertising and events) enable him to satisfy the most demanding requests in the shortest possible time, with style and personality.
