Berlin-based ambient duo Psycho & Plastic is comprised of Alexandre Decoupigny and Thomas Tichai who have been creating music together since 2011. Over the years, and through several musical transformations, the duo have released four albums as well as two EPs as they draw upon the works of Mouse On Mars, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Leftfield, Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Robot Koch, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for inspiration. Their own sound calls to mind the likes of Brian Eno, Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm. 

Foregoing preconceived notions, Psycho & Plastic’s music speaks from the soul, as they create an ambient world with their sound. Aiming their music towards “the thinkers and readers, the doubters and dreamers”, each note is chosen carefully to reflect the lingering concepts that arrange themselves at the back of a person’s mind.

Biography :

It came as quite a shock when The Avener’s Fade Out Lines rocketed to number 1 in the German iTunes charts. It had been a long time indeed since a French artist had achieved that kind of success in Germany, especially with such a startling single. The triumph of Fade Out Lines opened a door onto a unique and yet instantly familiar world. Its irresistible, sophisticated rhythms conjured up a dual image of lovers ending up on the quays of the Seine at daybreak, and of an urban club funk beat.
Since then, the single’s phenomenal success has proved contagious, confirming The Avener’s prime intention: to travel the frontiers between genres, periods and styles; between the music we listen to and the music we dance to; between underground and high-end pop. As The Avener says himself: “Fade Out Lines is hard to define. It’s blues with jazz, folk and funk influences, and electronic instruments. It has feelings, emotion and nostalgia, but a lot of energy, too.”
It perfectly reflects his upcoming album, The Wanderings Of The Avener, a sophisticated electro manifesto in the spirit of St Germain and his Boulevard’s nu-jazz sampling, reconciling the styles of Moby and Wankelmut, King Britt and Cassius...
The ghost producer of many club hits, Tristan became The Avener when he decided to re-embrace the pleasure of music for its own sake, his early love of piano and melodies, his rich, eclectic, multilayered musical culture and deep house – an antidote to the mechanical chill that has crept into electro over the last few years.
Tristan shut himself away in the studio for months. “I began to rework old tracks that went unnoticed at the time, giving them a more modern feel...” He was determined to achieve a perfect balance: a mixture of acoustic and electro combining songwriting science with the intuition of a dance-floor specialist. And while The Avener wrote his own music, The Avener also covered Sixto Rodriguez, John Lee Hooker, Mazzy Star, The Be Good Tanyas, Andy Bey and Adam Cohen in a mosaic of seminal blues, underground folk, nocturnal pop, ironic rock and the work of forgotten artists from the 70s and 80s, exploring secret paths of memory. His sampling of Phoebe Killdeer & the Short Straws’ The Fade Out Line, a foretaste of the album, was quietly uploaded in summer 2013. It steadily gathered momentum by word of mouth in France before going massive in Germany and then all around the world.
The Avener’s delicate, radiant style has been welcomed as a So French Touch of Elegance and acclaimed as the missing link between harmonic emotion and the urge to dance worldwide. Confirmation of this triumph looks certain with the release of his first album, The Wanderings of the Avener, out on January 19, 2015.

About :&#13;
The young Konrad was a lonely kid which had a radio for best friend. At night he used to record tapes after tapes and dreamt about those crazy people performing on stage.&#13;
 One day, as he found hisself out of homework, he’s been lucky enough to reach his father in law’s vinyls collection and to ear to some of the past treasures way before being able to buy his own records.&#13;
Then he found a guitar in the attic, started to learn how to use it and eventualy played with a few bands…&#13;
During college years, as he wasn’t that found of studies, Konrad took the way to a local radio station on which he’s been on air for 4 years.&#13;
When he felt he’d reached the limit of his little home town, he decided to pack, to leave his flat and headed to Paris.&#13;
4 years and a lot of adventures later, he decided to move to Berlin where he found a real “HOME”. &#13;
German people call that “Heimat”…&#13;
Live acts, great Dj sets, exhibitions, concerts, art is everywhere… &#13;
This was it…    this was the Base…&#13;
 Now Konrad is here and everywhere.&#13;

- A Professional Dreamer (Hoochi) - 

In Middle School, a huge guy passing by mentioned i would look like "Ho-Chi-Minh"... my friends loved it, starting to call me like that. Some people knew me for more than two years before they realized that this actually wasn't my real name. So i did not choose this name by myself, i just tried to make it look less scary over the years. 

My earliest memory connected with Electronic Music is sitting in the back of a tiny Opel listening to "Iron Eden" by The Gate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdoBR09q4so) back in the 90's. My friend had spent all his money on this new Subwoofer, placed directly behind the place i was sitting on. It was my first time experiencing this kind of music at a volume it is supposed to be heard. You can imagine that my 15 year old mind literally was blown. ;)
Even if i am open to every Genre and enjoy to listen to all kinds of music (as long as its really music and not purely driven by Greed), Electronic Music was the main focus since then. People started to use strange words, trying to categorize different types of Electronic Music. For me personally, that makes not much sense. I prefer to call it just "Electronic Music"(even if the Term is outdated again, as the Music isn't purely electronic anymore - or never was). Maybe i am just sick and tired of having everything well sorted - i grew up in Germany. :)
 
Mixing or doing music (which always means to create something like an "emotional pattern") always fascinated me. I never made it to start doing it myself though. 
Finally i decided to make the first steps, starting with digital Equipment. Most certainly too late to make a living out of it, but hopefully still in time to make some people smile.

I hope you enjoy listening to the stuff i uploaded. My apologies for bad mixing skills.
